Profomisakari Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) When Profomisakari will have made his habitual early pick, three other players may still catch him. Profomisakari (8-6) PhorCillic (7-7) chishafuwaku (7-6-1) Tenshinhan (7-6-1) Come on, boys! Here is my pick, not very early, but the first in our row: Day 15: Shohozan (not very new, but I have spoken with the Kyokai bosses) Now I hope for your answers! Profomisakari Edited January 22, 2016 by Profomisakari
PhorCillic Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Profomisakari (8-6) PhorCillic (7-7) chishafuwaku (7-6-1) Tenshinhan (7-6-1) I wont vote for Shohozan. That could mean a jun-yusho, but it's not a good attitude targeting a runner-up position. Senshuuraku: Myogiryu. Edited January 22, 2016 by PhorCillic
Jakusotsu Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Excellent! All four contenders picked differently, so whoever gets it right will take the yusho (or Profo if the Kyokai has the last laugh...)
kuroimori Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Shohozan it is and so nobody catches the Profo. Congrats for claiming the GKA (GAA) yusho!
Jakusotsu Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Final results: Former Yokozuna Profomisakari left no opening for his pursuers and grabbed the yusho in convincing fashion - omedeto, old chum! Profomisakari Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Thank you, guys, that you have allowed me to win this fine game. A special thank goes to the Kyokai. Every time I asked them, they said me, whom they would set aigainst Aoi. Thanks once more! My money is well spent! Profomisakari
Tenshinhan Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Not sure if my performance had ozeki quality. I am quite nervous what the committee will decide. At least 7-7-1 looks better than 7-8. :-) Congratualtions to Profomisakari!

Jejima Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 New banzuke for March 2016 Jakusotsu (Y1E Kosho) Y1 chishafuwaku (O1W 7-7-1) O1 Kuroimori (O1E 6-7-2) O2 Andonishiki (O2W 6-9) Tenshinhan (S1E 7-7-1) S1 Gurowake (S1W 6-9) Jejima (S2E 6-8-1) S2 Profomisakari (M1E 9-6) orandashoho (K1E 7-7-1) K1 PhorCillic (M1W 7-8) Kaiomitsuki (K1W 3-11-1) M1 Gernobono (M3E 5-10) XiaoTan (M2E Kosho) M2 The Kyokai (M3W 4-11) shimodahito (M2W 2-13) M3 Ryoshishokunin (mz 6-7-2) Comments: Jakusotsu took a rest in January. We hope he will return fighting fit, and challenging for the yusho in March. Although Tenshinhan was one of several who claimed a share of the jun-yusho, it was deemed not quite an Ozeki Quality performance, and so has not yet been promoted to Ozeki for the March banzuke. However, it was a decent result. For this reason, Tenshinhan will be considered for promotion to Ozeki for May if he achieves an Ozeki Quality performance in March. Profomisakari will be considered for promotion to Ozeki with a Yusho, or a good Jun-yusho in March.
Jakusotsu Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Jun-yusho not good enough for Ozeki Quality? Gosh, I wish the NSK had been that strict when it mattered...
Jejima Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 OQ line (as calculated using the same formula since the start of this game) is 8-7 for this basho. 7-7-1 is below that - even if it is a jun-yusho. So Tenshinhan did not meet the target set for him prior to the start of the basho. But I agree that it is a bit harsh, and that is why the rijicho is giving him another chance for the next basho, with the same criteria. Very fair, I think?
Tenshinhan Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Yes, I think it is fair and I already had the feeling before that an 8-7 is needed. Damn, if I only sticked with the obvious Shohozan on the last Day... Actually 7 wins is double ozeki quality as it is the sum of Terunofuji and Goeido this basho. (Whistling...) 1
