Pandaazuma Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Hello gamers! This is the official thread in which to make your entries for the 2016 edition of Metasumo. The rules are very simple. You need to create a stable of sumo GAMERS. This stable will come from the final 2015 Sumo Game World Championship standings, which can be found here: http://www.strongoak.net/sb/sbsgwc.htmlYou should choose ONE (please be careful - two people made errors last year) from each of the rank ranges below:1: 1-52: 6-103: 11-204: 21-405: 41-806: 81-1207: 121-2008: 201+You can choose yourself if you want to, you vain young thing! There will be no transfers, so if one of your choices is absent, you'll just get zero for him/her that basho. Each gamer will win you Masters points if they finish in the top ten in any of the Superbanzuke games in each basho. All Masters points will add to your cumulative total. The winner is the person who has the most points at the end of the year.So pick the gamers who you think will bring you Metasumo glory...try to find the bargains in the lower categories and avoid the one-hit wonders in the top ones!Flohru won last year and he says he greatly enjoyed the first prize of a kiss on the lips from me. I'll be upping the ante this year: the winner gets to have a romantic dinner with Fujisan. I am choosing him because there's no chance in hell he will win this game so he won't need to have a romantic dinner with himself. The person who comes last gets to debate (but not defame) MasuMasuMasu.Enjoy!Simon (Pandaazuma) PS. Note to Rando, who kindly looks after this game's standings: I'll put a thread on the Sumotalk forum too for recruitment purposes. Feel free to add this to the German and French forums. Thanks. 2
Pandaazuma Posted December 20, 2015 Author Posted December 20, 2015 My picks: 1-5: Pandaazuma (My money's on Gurowake this year but I'm picking myself for motivation) 6-10: Randomitsuki (Rando's due a good year very soon) 11-20: ScreechingOwl (Always disciplined and his tactics are improving all the time. A likely top-ten finisher) 21-40: Haidouzo (Playing all the games now and he can only improve with his sleek new picking system) 41-80: Sebunshu (Steadily improved over the years. Expecting him to go further this year) 81-120: Chocshoporyu (Someone has to pick the bastard...it might as well be me) 121-200: Chankoyama (A newbie but I know her so I'll give her some support. She plays a few game and knows her sumo) 201+: Sokkenaiyama: (Martin is back in the games a bit recently so he has to be in the team for me) Pandaazuma

ronnie Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 1-5 Pandaazuma, better the devil you know! 6-10 Kuroimori, excellent gamer in my opinion. 11-20 Ganzohnesushi, due for a huge comeback. 21-40 Chishafuwaku, in a great position for the new year. 41-80 Doitsuyama, gaming legend and a very nice chap. 81-120 Hana-Ichi, the Flower Girl...... just because. 121-200 Gawasukotto, Yes, me again. 200+ Umi, Top of those ranks. ronnie 2
Gurowake Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Andoreasu Randomitsuki Norizo chishafuwaku Ruziklao Jakusotsu nomadwolf Sokkenaiyama 1
kuroimori Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 1-5 Pandaazuma - I have a feeling that he'll be back firing on all cylinders in the new SG year6-10 Flohru - I am still shaking my head in disbelief that I managed to finish just less than one point behind this SG Grandmaster11-20 Ganzohnesushi - completely without fishy performances in 201621-40 chishafuwaku - he'll bounce back into contention for SG World Championship41-80 Ruziklao - ranked 42nd 2014 & 2015, so at least this ranked should be a shoe-in for 201681-120 saruyama - even a monkey can fall from the mountain, but he can also climb up again in no time121-200 Taxinohana - taxi! taxi! get to the top, go as fast as possible, please!201+ Sokkenaiyama - my cndidate for biggest leap up the ranks of the year 1
Fujisan Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Flohru won last year and he says he greatly enjoyed the first prize of a kiss on the lips from me. I'll be upping the ante this year: the winner gets to have a romantic dinner with Fujisan. I am choosing him because there's no chance in hell he will win this game so he won't need to have a romantic dinner with himself. The person who comes last gets to debate (but not defame) MasuMasuMasu. Enjoy! Simon (Pandaazuma) Well Mr Panda.... I fear you may be right about me winning your Metasumo game I will be working far too hard on winning the little known Super banzuke world championship you may have heard of it? To show I am a good sport though I will be happy to kiss the winner aswell during the dinner, I think the last place prize should be to debate the origin of life on the sumotalk forum..............Good luck leaving that one alive... Edit... My entry is in the post... Edited December 21, 2015 by Fujisan
Jakusotsu Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Gurowake Flohru Kitakachiyama Unkonoyama Sebunshu Jakusotsu (so I won't let down only other players) Gawasukotto Hogashi 1
Fujisan Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Pandaazuma- Needs all the encougement he can get just to stop him retiring after the predicted poor showing again in 2016...... Flohru Ganzohnesushi (I was going to pick myselr but after looking through the choices saw a champion in the making I could not leave out my team... } Fujisan Doitsuyama Jakusotsu Bunjiiman Sokkenaiyama Edit- Right picks wrong order...Corrected... ScreechingOwl Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 1-5: Pandaazuma (The talent at this rank is so high, but I'm going with the once and future king.) 6-10: Randomitsuki (Nine gamers better than Juergen two years in a row? Unmöglich!) 11-20: Norizo (It's like picking King James himself for who's bible translation is the best.) 21-40: Unkonoyama (I'll be extremely peeved if two players from the US finish ahead of me, but wouldn't bet against it) 41-80: Bafa (Lots of talent at this level although it's hard to know who will break out.) 81-120: Chocshoporyu (I'll pick the bastard as well.) 121-200: KikoCookie (My daughter, who no longer inquires if she is up on me in any game, only if she's ahead of Simon.) 201+: Sokkenaiyama: (I'm not sure if Martin will make it up to makuuchi until the end of next year in SG, but when he does....)

Ganzohnesushi Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 1-5 Pandaazuma (hope he is not in danger of extinction) 6-10 Flohru (due for a top three position) 11-20 Ganzohnesushi (at least I have some influence on the participation of this guy) 21-40 Chishafuwaku (is there a Sumo game he doesn't play?) 41-80 Doitsuyama (though he has sadly retired in a few games I see no better choice) 81-120 Jakusotsu (Prost! The guy who has recommended this here http://www.biershop-bayern.de/media/catalog/product/cache/5/small_image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/w/e/weiherer_keller.jpg) 121-200 Gawasukotto (No alternative to Celtic in Scotland. 1967!) 200+ Sokkenaiyama (Martin should be the top dog of this group) Ganzohnesushi 2

ronnie Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 121-200 Gawasukotto (No alternative to Celtic in Scotland. 1967!) Ganzohnesushi Bit off topic, but Scottish teams did quite well in Europe 66-67. Kilmarnock got to the semi finals of the Fairs Cities Cup, Rangers lost to Bayern in the final of the Cup Winners Cup in Nuremburg, and of course, Celtic did the business against Internazionale in Lisbon :-)

PhorCillic Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Hmmm... I dunno who to take, but I want to try. Let's go with the Rikishi Game players/testers list :) 1-5 - Gurowake. The One and Only. 6-10 - Kuroimori - But had a dillema (Randomitsuki) 11-20 - Ganzohnesushi 21-40 - Tenshinhan - The highest of three players (Senkoho, Jejima) 41-80 - Mischashimaru - "You earned it" :) (also Torafujii in that group) 81-120 - Jakusotsu - Out of 2 guys, Jakusotsu is more active (also wolfgangho here) ...and that's all. But I still have some free places. So... 121-200 - KikoCookie 200+ - Sokkenaiyama 1
