I hear the public laughting... so what is the "hilarious announcement" saying?

It's always (for all kensho) the company name and a product slogan. In this case:

遠藤はだっこちゃんです
Endo ha dakko-chan desu
Endo is a...

Don't really know how to translate dakko. Dakko means 'a child's hug' or carrying a baby or pet in your arms. Chan is a diminutive suffix used for example for young kids. So something like "Endo is a cute litte pet to hug".

It's the Nagatanien CM campaign in pieces.

Usually for kensho it's a short slogan and the name of the sponsor, but in this case for the whole set they have it turned into a long Nagatanien CM.

Starting as always "For this bout there is/are ..." to announce the kensho and then something like

"And now the Nagatanien campaign announcement:" "It's the Endo-hug doll"

"In the Nagantanien campaign you can get" "the hug-doll"

"All have been waiting for" "the hug-doll"

"10 000 can get one" "the hug doll"

Like Torquato wrote, the first one "Endo-zeki dakko-chan desu" sounds a bit odd on its own, like by a kid saying "Endo, (he is a) hug-doll"

Dakko-chan apparently has been a popular type of doll for quite some time, it's basically formed to hug you.

Thanks for the explanations. I just wish that he would do better, and get some of his own kensho. Can't be much fun to fall off the dohyo each time, with the risk of injury on top of all that.

Endo-zeki dakko-chan rag-doll hug-doll is also very popular among Makuuchi rikishi.

They love to hug and squeeze him and push him out of the dohyo and then get a nice stash of kensho envelopes for it.

6 of 8 have already taken this opportunity during the current Kyushu basho... B-)

He had about 12/13 Kensho in each of his bouts. That means he gave away about 130 to 140 kensho this basho. Quite generous of him. I wonder If his sponsoring will go on like this with such records.

Harumafuji with only 2 more than Kakuryu who had 4 less wins.

Harumafuji for sure attracts less money than Kakuryu, but in the yoks case it's also a matter if they lose/win the last bout of the day or an earlier one and which day of the tournament that is. Harumafujis win against Hakuho in the penultimate bout of day 13 gave him just 20 kensho. The final bout on senshuraku had the old maximum limit of 51 kensho, which definitely also would have been there when the Kakuryu and Harumafuji bouts against Hakuho would have been scheduled the other way. In this case (reasonably assuming the same amount of kensho) Kakuryu would have finished with 138 and Harumafuji with 202 kensho. With just one change in scheduling it could have looked much different.

Why wouldn't it? It's the same cost and benefit to the sponsor no matter who wins, if they wanted all the money to go to Endo personally they'd have used some other arrangement (larger CM deal, etc.) from the start. IIRC Takamisakari's deal with Nagatanien went on unchanged until he dropped out of makuuchi. There was talk that it would probably resume at a lower level if he made it back, but he never did so it was moot. Edited November 25, 2015 by Asashosakari

The reason to put sponsorship money into the match is simply to get your company's name out there. If you put it out on a very popular rikishi, people take notice of your banner. Seems like capitalistic marketing to me.
