Senkoho Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) The new banzuke is out, so I'm posting the lineups. Only 9 heya with 3+ sekitori this time - we lost Oitekaze and Tokitsukaze due to Daishomaru's and Tosayutaka's demotions. The game doesn't have to get less interesting though, especially since for the first time we have a 7-man team - Kise-beya. Guessing the correct order of all 7 Kiseans will give you 38 points! If someone wants to participate in the 4th edition of SHG, please send me your predictions (and your shikona) to dorodnyedredon@gmail.com or post them in this topic before the start of sekitori bouts on Day 1. Rules: "Teams" are formed by sekitori belonging to the same heya (only heya with 3 or more sekitori are included). Each player assigns numbers from 1 to [the number of sekitori in the heya] to the members of each "team" according to how many wins he/she thinks they will score (for example: if a heya has 4 sekitori, the rikishi who the player thinks will have the most wins is assigned a 1 and the one who the player thinks will have the least wins gets a 4.) In case of two rikishi with identical number of wins, the score of the one with a higher rank will be considered better. EXAMPLE: It's Kyushu 2000. Futagoyama-beya has 4 sekitori: Y Takanohana, S Takanonami, M1 Akinoshima and M5 Takatoriki. Let's say you predict that Takanohana will get 10 wins, Takanonami will get 11 wins, Akinoshima and Takatoriki - 5 wins each. Your entry will then probably look as follows: Y Takanohana 2 (second most wins) S Takanonami 1 (the most wins) M1 Akinoshima 3 (same number of wins as Takatoriki, but ranked higher) M5 Takatoriki 4 (same number of wins as Akinoshima, but ranked lower) Scoring: After the basho, 1 point will be awarded for every correctly guessed A>B-type (A has more wins than B) relation between every two members of a "team". EXAMPLE: Let's go back to our Kyushu 2000 Futagoyama-beya team and see how the 4 rikishi did in the basho: Y Takanohana 11-4 S Takanonami 6-9 M1 Akinoshima 5-10 M5 Takatoriki 4-11 (Our prediction was: 1 Takanonami, 2 Takanohana, 3 Akinoshima, 4 Takatoriki) We earned 5 points: 1. Takanonami>Akinoshima, 2. Takanonami>Takatoriki, 3. Takanohana>Akinoshima, 4. Takanohana>Takatoriki, 5. Akinoshima>Takatoriki Bonus points will be awarded for getting the order of the whole "team" right (a bull's-eye) (the more sekitori in a heya, the higher the bonus):+3 for a 3-sekitori heya,+5 for a 4-sekitori heya+8 for a 5-sekitori heya+12 for a 6-sekitori heya +17 for a 7-sekitori heya etc. There is also a bonus question for 5 points: which of the featured teams do you think will have the highest average number of wins? (in case of an identical average number of wins, the scores of bigger teams will be treated as better. In case of two or more equally big teams getting the same best average number of wins, all of them will be considered "winners") Highest possible score for Nagoya 2015: 120+5=125 points TIE-BREAKERS: 1. Number of bull's-eyes 2. Points for 7-sekitori heya 3. Points for 6-sekitori heya etc TEAMS: Isegahama (assign numbers from 1 to 5; 1 - most wins, 5 - least wins. In case of a tie, higher rank is better): Y Harumafuji O Terunofuji K Takarafuji M4 Aminishiki M9 Homarefuji Kasugano (1-3): S Tochiozan M1 Tochinoshin M2 Aoiyama Kise: M5 Tokushoryu M6 Gagamaru M13 Hidenoumi J3 Jokoryu J13 Takaryu J14e Akiseyama J14w Tokushinho Kokonoe: M13 Chiyotairyu J1 Chiyootori J5 Chiyomaru J8 Chiyoo Oguruma: M4 Takekaze M8 Yoshikaze J7 Amakaze Onomatsu: M10 Amuru J8 Onosho J11 Daido Sakaigawa: O Goeido K Myogiryu M1 Sadanoumi M9 Sadanofuji M14 Toyohibiki Tagonoura: O Kisenosato M2 Takayasu J11 Wakanosato Tomozuna: M3 Kaisei M6 Kyokushuho M11 Kyokutenho J3 Asahisho Bonus question for 5 points: which of the featured teams do you think will have the highest average number of wins? Senkoho Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 I have received entries from 9 players, which is a new SHG record! Entries received: chishafuwaku kotoshikona teo_heel Tenshinhan Senkoho Pandaazuma Achiyama kuroimori Kotoviki I'll try to post the standings every 3 or every 5 days, but I can't promise anything...
Senkoho Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Here are the final Nagoya 2015 SHG results: The yusho goes to......... ACHIYAMA!!! (Yusho winner...), who beat the Haru and Natsu champion, Tenshinhan in a dramatic kettei-sen (Achiyama scored 4 bull's-eyes, while Tenshinhan had "only" 3). Congratulations to the winner!!! Kasugano-beya was the heya with the highest win per sekitori average. No-one got the 5-point bonus this time. Here are the final standings: 1. Achiyama - 47 pts (4 BE) 2. Tenshinhan - 47 pts (3 BE) 3. teo_heel - 45 pts (2 BE) 4. kuroimori - 42 pts (3 BE) 5. kotoshikona - 36 pts (2 BE) 6. Senkoho - 36 pts (1 BE) 7. chishafuwaku - 30 pts (2 BE & 6pts for 5-sekitori heya) 8. Kotoviki - 30 pts (2 BE & 5 pts for 5-sekitori heya) 9. pandaazuma - 28 pts (2 BE) Fun fact: It was possible to score 38(!) points for Kise-beya alone! All of the players failed miserably, with the highest score of 9 (nine) points. One of the reasons for this is that all nine contestants put Tokushinho at the last, 7th position in their entries. He surprised everyone and achieved the highest score among the Kiseans. Also, Akiseyama, who scored 2nd best at Kise, came 6th in 6 out of 9 entries. Thanks to all the players who decided to play SHG this time! I hope to see all of you back for Aki basho :-) 1
Senkoho Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 I'll try to post the full scoring table some time this week.
Senkoho Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) As promised, here is the full scoring table for SHG Nagoya 2015. Please let me know if it works! Also included: ranking after four basho. I think for now I'll keep a six-last-basho kind of ranking. The scores you see in the table are simply the points you scored in the game + a 5-point yusho bonus for every basho. Is this form of ranking okay? Edited July 29, 2015 by Senkoho
Achiyama Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) As promised, here is the full scoring table for SHG Nagoya 2015. Please let me know if it works! Also included: ranking after four basho. I think for now I'll keep a six-last-basho kind of ranking. The scores you see in the table are simply the points you scored in the game + a 5-point yusho bonus for every basho. Is this form of ranking okay? I think the form is o.k., but I would suggest instead of the total amount of points (the last column) to have the average per basho (the total score devided by the number of the basho played. i think Profomisakari was doimg something like this on his game 21 in the past. Of course, there should be a rule that every gamer have the right to be absent 1 basho. All the rest of unattended basho will count as 0. Otherwise, one gamer with 1 very good basho might decide not to play the rest of the 6 basho streak and have a high average. This will eventually stimulate the gamers to participate in the game regularly. Just a thought! Edited July 29, 2015 by Achiyama
Achiyama Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) I was very pleasantly surprised that I won the Yusho. Frankly I didn't expect it. Starting this game in Natsu 2015 and finishing last, made me wonder whether to continue playing it in the furture. But now I definitely will, and will try to do well in the upcoming basho. Thanks, Senkoho for creating the game. I think it's interesting and involves knowledge not only on Sekitori, but also rikishi from lower divisions. Regards, Achiyama BTW, I expected to see you playing TUG during Nagoya basho. Edited July 29, 2015 by Achiyama
