Sorry to say, but that fusen rule is complete nonsense. If I am not mistaken TUG is the only game where you are actually punished for selecting a fusen winner. If you are not willing to just accept the fact that sometimes players will benefit from fusen wins (like in S-Q or TTT), you should at least introduce something like an automatic substitute pick, which could be the highest point winner, the most picked winner or whatever.

i think we discussed that in some lengthy argument.....noone is "punished" for selecting a fusenwinner....your just not rewarded for it...and that is the same in many games like oddsumo and german tipspiel......if it is THAT important for you, just get up before deadline and check the announcements.....

AS THE 2ND PLACED GAMER AFTER DAY 14 HAS 162 POINTS THE CUT LINE IS 131.

changed the rules?...cannot see more than 4 possible to take the yusho with 31 points the maximum to gain

I made a little change, as I am trying to improve the game, which I announced in thread #294, but I assume you didn't see it.

I extended it not just for the Yusho, but also for Jun-Yusho, that's why the CUT line is 131, and not 145.

I don't see the point of your protest. I don't see how this change harms the game.

Of course, the rules will be revised for next basho.

I was gonna say the same that we've discussed a lot the Fusen situation before last basho and as I recall most of the Gamers were against granting any points.

I went an extra mile (although it wasn't my responsibility), sending PM and e-mail (which I knew) to all Gamers, affected by Goeido's kujio. Obviously, these messages didn't reach all of the Gamers on time.

Nah, it's not important at all to me (those days are long gone), that's probably why I missed the lengthy discussion before! :) Just pointing out that despite your nitpicking in fact you are punished especially if you made your pick prior to the kyujo announcement. And obviously it is something completely different in German Tipspiel where you have an additional sixth pick just for fusen cases and in Oddsumo where your pick still counts and could score you some points.

I HAVE A PROBLEM REGARDING TENSHINHAN'S PICK AND I HOPE YOU'LL HELP ME MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION (I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS FOR ANY OF THE GAMERS PARTICIPATING IN TUG FOR FAIR AND EQUAL TREATMENT).

THE PROBLEM:

I received a message from him on May 22, that he won't have Internet the following days and he could not wait for the last Torikumi to be posted.

He sent me his pick then TERUNOFUJI over Goeido (he said he expected that this will be the bout on Senshuraku).

You know what happened with Goeido. And Terunofuji is no longer an Underdog on Senshuraku. He is meeting my compatriot Aoiyama.

There are 2 options to consider:

1.) Just consider the situation as missing to submit a pick (0 points).

2.) Asign him, say the points of the most picked UNDERDOG and get the corresponding points if he wins.

a.) In case of equal number of picks - chose the lowest number of points;

b.) In case of again equal number of picks - chose the lowest ranked Underdog.

Please, let me know if you are for (1.) or (2.).

I'd like to see at least 75% votes (17 gamers) to make a proper decision.

If less than 17 gamers respond then (1.) will be in effect.

If at least 17 gamers respond, then 50% +1 will give me the winning option.

Hope you'll give this situation a proper consideration as anybody of us could find himself / herself in this situation.
