shimodahito Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 good day all,...from the bottom of the banzuke the 2015 TORCH starts with rank Jonokuchi 22 West & rikishi Kozakura -- who has been in sumo since Kyushu 2010 (49-94-19 record)....and the the first TORCH MATCH or the year: TORCH MATCH ON HATSU DAY 4! RIKISHIKOZAKURA vs KAWAMOTO RANKJONOKUCHI 22 WEST vs JONOKUCHI 21 EAST Player(s) up for points:wildcard's (default) rank/rikishi pick is JONOKUCHI 22 WEST KOZAKURAa loss = 1 point, but a win = 3 points and an opportunity for more points in the next torch match standings:57 players with 0 points.
shimodahito Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 good day all,...it's time for the second TORCH match. The starting TORCHBEARER won the first match, but strangely has an 1-0-1 record. It appears he was given an absence, yet there was no fusen opponent. So we continue: TORCH MATCH ON HATSU DAY 6! RIKISHIKOZAKURA vs KIYOMUSASHI (musashi... aloha!) RANKJONOKUCHI 22 WEST vs JONOKUCHI 21 WEST Player(s) up for points:wildcard's (default) rank/rikishi pick is JONOKUCHI 22 WEST KOZAKURAa loss = 1 point, but a win = 3 points and an opportunity for more points in the next torch match
shimodahito Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 good day all, Our initial TORCHBEARER is still in possession. TORCH MATCH ON HATSU DAY 7! RIKISHIKOZAKURA vs YAMAMOTO RANKJONOKUCHI 22 WEST vs JONOKUCHI 18 EAST Player(s) up for points:wildcard's (default) rank/rikishi pick is JONOKUCHI 22 WEST KOZAKURAa loss = 1 point, but a win = 3 points and an opportunity for more points in the next torch match
Gurowake Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 good day all, ...it's time for the second TORCH match. The starting TORCHBEARER won the first match, but strangely has an 1-0-1 record. It appears he was given an absence, yet there was no fusen opponent. So we continue: As the lowest person on the banzuke, he's the one who gets his match delayed if there's an odd number of rikishi to be scheduled in the lower divisions. I would expect this to happen relatively frequently (half the time it should be delayed Round 1). He'll get the match made up if there's an odd number for a subsequent Round with one match each day that Round, and if there's still an odd man out for Round 7, someone else will get an extra match day 14 or 15.
shimodahito Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 thanks Gurowake, You are correct. And it looks like KOZAKURA did get his match made up as he's no longer showing an absence. KOZAKURA also passed the TORCH to YAMAMOTO on Day 7. good day all, Here's a quick recap of the TORCH matches: DAY 4: Jonokuchi 22 West Kozakura (0-0) defeats Jonokuchi 21 East Kawamoto (0-1) [3 points - wildcard]DAY 6: Jonokuchi 22 West Kozakura (1-0) defeats Jonokuchi 21 West Kiyomusashi (1-1) [3 points - wildcard]DAY 7: Jonokuchi 22 West Kozakura (2-0) passes the TORCH to Jonokuchi 18 East Yamamoto (2-1) [1 point - wildcard]DAY 10: Jonokuchi 18 East Yamamoto (3-1) defeats Jonokuchi 10 East Daiseiryu (3-1) Which brings us to: TORCH MATCH ON HATSU DAY 11!
