OK, I'd forgotten that important rule.

Tochinoshin was about day 1. Now I know that I would have earned 15 + 4 = 19 points if Tochinoshin had won.

Sorry for having questioned the table for day 2 :-(

Exactly.

The group of 3 would have had 9 + 2 = 11 points each

The group of 6 would have had 4 + 1 = 5 points each.

Don't worry. I like people asking questions when something new is offered.

What happens if someone can not make his daily bet? 0 points, I guess.

Is it not possible to create a rule for such cases?

I propose to calculate the median of all possible daily earnings (without this new rule) and the default daily could be one of equal the median.

In case of a tie (what should happen often) the pre-defined input could be, for example, the best on the banzuke.

If the median is different (even possibilities) we can consider the closest value.

What do you think?

In the revised version of the Rules I also wrote down (per Pandaazuma's feedback) Yusho tiebreakers.

Did you read the revised rules?

My idea was to make this game as simple as possible. At the end of the basho we can discuss your suggestions for mathematical and.or statistical tools to improve the game. So, please make a list with your findings and suggestions.

I am not an expert in statistics but I think there are many bright guys, members in the Sumoforum who'd be willing to help.

As for missing to submit your picks for a certain day, you'll just not have the opportunity to get points.

I just alluded to the case of not making the daily input.

You ended up responding.

day 3 tochiozan

for the rules:

why give the places extra points?....first place got a big score and that should be enough......the extrapoints could be some kind of yusho-tiebreaker.....(just a thought)

Day 3 Tokushoryu

Profomisakari

Abhout the rules:

For me are this too many special points.

All these points must be additional calculated.

All this is additional work for you.

This is not as simple as possible as you would have.

The Difference points between the groups and perhaps special points for KinBoshi and GinBoshi.

Why shouldn't be this enough?

Too complicated point rules make too many error sources and too much work for you.

And for the player it is too difficult to overlook his standings.

The total result can be in addition of the daily points, who failed to vote has 0 daily points.

Please not such complicated instruments like median

and no artifically daily results like 1:0 or 0:1 as in Toto please!

And like Gernobono:

The daily placements could perhaps be a tiebreaker.

But there too can be more simple tiebreaker rules.
