Kintamayama Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 (edited) Well, here's hoping all goes well without backup from Araibira. The stuff I use is very shaky and flaky, and it was always good to know I could use Araibira's vids as backup in case something fell apart. Now, it's going to be, well, interesting.I know I speak on behalf of everyone in wishing Gurowake success in his endeavors- the show must go on!! Edited September 28, 2014 by Kintamayama 5
Shikona Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Thanks in advance for all your work, Kinta. September basho is going to rock! But you didn't hear me say that... 1
Kintamayama Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) Day 1-as I foresaw-tons of problems and lizard people everywhere-this is going to be one tough basho without Araibira.. Edited September 14, 2014 by Kintamayama 18
Kuroyama Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 You did not let the lizard people win! 1
Ruziklao Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Lizard man Shohozan and a few more. This anti-Kotoshogiku henka was indeed very quick for such big man to execute it. I am here - I am not there :D
Gurowake Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Due to the Lizard people attack on Kintamayama's video of Day 1 and my utter boredom, I compiled a recap of Makuuchi in which I managed to fend off their attacks and capture clean videos of each bout (it took many tries in some cases). I don't know if it's the solar storm that's behind their attacks, but if he is unable to get decent video I'll probably continue to compile these later in the day if I'm bored. I'm not going to try rushing these out right after Makuuchi is finished though; Kintamayama does a much better job with pretty much everything and puts a lot more effort into it than I'm really willing to. This is more for better archival purposes. 6
kuroimori Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Ichinojo's throw was quite impressive considering Tochinowaka isn't really a feather-weight guy (maybe mentally). Anyway, 1-no-Joe made it look like he has been in the upper division for some years already. Thanks to Kinta & Guro for providing footage of his Makuuchi debut bout!
shimodahito Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I recall having to wait for sumo world magazine to tell me basho results. Then e-mail came and I could order a copy of the bouts on disc from Ken and actually see the results. Lizards or not, it is amazing we can get results on the internet sometimes live, and always almost live. Hats off and glasses raised to all the tech wiz's over the past decades who dedicate their craft and share. -shimodahito 5
Sumozumo Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 You guys fight the good fight. We are dispatched at Japanese company outside of Japan. The word about you is spreading. (Though in hushed tones because of kintamayama's name !!) 1
Kintamayama Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Day 2- OK quality, no lizards.. Edited September 15, 2014 by Kintamayama 13
Gurowake Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Taka-Take, now with glorious sound! Edited September 16, 2014 by Gurowake 5
kuroimori Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Day 2 Trivia Q: Who is the gyoji in the Tochiozan vs. Tamawashi bout? A: Ki(tty)mura Hellosuke! ;-)
Kintamayama Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Day 3-finally managed to cobble something more or less worthy from all kinds of places.. This is surely the latest I have ever posted: Edited September 16, 2014 by Kintamayama 17
Shitamachi Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Thank you Kinta. In awe that you got this up in time for me to watch on my evening commute. You just made my day. Many thanks!!
Jakusotsu Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Very strange. After updating the Shockwave Flash plugin yesterday, I can only watch the embedded videos here. At youtube all videos crash after 2 seconds with a generic error message. Anyone else?
Akinomaki Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 In Firefox for me Shockwave kept crashing for over a month. I always turn it off now, much better on all kind of sites - Youtube gives a short error message but always plays the clip without problems with the VLC plugin. Only for sites which demand Flash I turn it on (I always have the add-ons manager open in one tab), like NHK, Ustream or Niconico and after that off again (no browser restart necessary). 1
Kotomikey Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Again, I thank you Kinta. Your hard work makes it easier for me to follow sumo.
Naganoyama Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I use Chrome these days for anything with Flash. Firefox gave me too much trouble.
Konosato Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Super image quality Moti, merci beaucoup. Edited September 18, 2014 by Konosato
Asashosakari Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I've been meaning to mention - Moti, every time I go to your channel page, I have to wonder: "Who's Ned?" 1
Kintamayama Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 I've been meaning to mention - Moti, every time I go to your channel page, I have to wonder: "Who's Ned?" Ned?
Shikona Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I just looked at the channel page, and I couldn't even find Ned (he's probably sitting behind Waldo somewhere). All I could think is the name is a weird resolution effect of either your initials or the Yankees logo on your cap.
