I'm not following this basho as closely as I normally do, but I've been watching all Makuuchi bouts and on the top level it's a weird basho to say the least. Let's hope week 2 will set things right a little.

Listen, he's got better Bazingers than most models, Gawd bless'im. He'd be the envy of some women.

And of course sumo is rated "R". You've got naked men running around clad in what is essentially women's scarfs. Which may or may not come undone, given the level of exertion and lack of marine skills at knots. And NO safety pins. They have their hair done up nice, and go flesh-to-flesh, grabbing each other's scarfs in the process.

And you have referees who wear dresses. And carry fans. And judges who wear dresses, no fans.

How else would you rate it?

I assume you've noticed how much Ikioi tries to look like Hakuho. Today, he did the mouth thing Hakuho does after a win.

Of course, physically he does resemble the Yokozuna.

Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

The daily videos are a life saver, but I sure do miss all of the ring-entering, salt-throwing, mind games prior to the tachi-ai.

Does anyone have any advice (software, etc.) for how to record an entire Makauuchi stream (it is on during the middle of the night where I live) so that I could watch the entire thing the next day? Or is this just way to much data to be able to support?
