kuroimori Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Amazing promo! (Punk rocker...) When can we find it in the record store? And who will be singin' the blues after senshuraku...? So many questions, can't wait till shonichi! 1
krindel Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 After that, there's no need to even watch the basho, we have already seen its most memorable moment :-) 2

Kintamayama Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) Day 1- this is going to be a nightmare-all NHk sources really bad quality today. Edited May 11, 2014 by Kintamayama 18
kuroimori Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Thanks for the shonichi show! I just got me one of those Chromecast dongles and can enjoy your Makuuchi digests in Cinemascope & Dolby Surround (well, not really Surround)
Vikanohara Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Are there more half Filipinos in sumo ? It's that I have a colleague who is half Filipino himself who is into contact sports, but not into sumo because nobody to cheer for. So a full list would give him plenty to cheer for I guess. :-P

Tsubame Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 @Kintas commentary to Hakuhos match: I would disagree, it was indeed superior sumo shown by Hakuho. He was in a positon where he had the time to choose his kimarite well. It might does not seem well performed, but there was never a doubt of his victory. :-)
ryafuji Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Kind of sloppy though. Not terribly impressive. And what's up with Harumafuji? He was incredibly lucky in that one.
Morty Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Kind of sloppy though. Not terribly impressive. And what's up with Harumafuji? He was incredibly lucky in that one. I was convinced in the first watching that he had put his hands down. Not the second though... And Aiyoyama had the serious staggers at the end there
Gurowake Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 @Kintas commentary to Hakuhos match: I would disagree, it was indeed superior sumo shown by Hakuho. He was in a positon where he had the time to choose his kimarite well. It might does not seem well performed, but there was never a doubt of his victory. :-) It was superior, but it wasn't up to his usual performance standards. I don't think anyone expected him to lose at any point of the match, but he wasn't utterly dominating like he was against Chiyootori Day 1.
Kintamayama Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Exactly. He couldnt get any real grip. Takekaze had a morozashi for a second. Did not go as expected, I promise you.
Gusoyama Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 In Hakuho's head: "Will you hold still, you damn wiggle worm?" Hate to say it, but Kisenosato's looking the best right now.
wanderer Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 In Hakuho's head: "Will you hold still, you damn wiggle worm?" Hate to say it, but Kisenosato's looking the best right now. Kisenosato is in his bulldozer mode.
yorikiried by fate Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) IMHO Kisenosato is just his usual monolithic self. He relies mainly on his own inertia and a couple of well placed pushes. The first quick opponent who can profit from his non-existent tachi-ai will show him to the ropes. Edited May 12, 2014 by yorikiried by fate 2

Benevolance Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 So, on Vimeo, is there a playlist function that I'm not seeing? I get that couch mode will let me watch the videos continuously, but I'd like to start with the earliest match and finish with the Yok matches.
araibira Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 So, on Vimeo, is there a playlist function that I'm not seeing? I get that couch mode will let me watch the videos continuously, but I'd like to start with the earliest match and finish with the Yok matches. I structured it so the lower bouts are viewed first. I just tested it on couch mode. 3
