bgeery Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Has anyone looked into P2P streaming apps? According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P2PTV the best options seem to be PeerCast, Tribler, or BEMTV.
bgeery Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) Has anyone looked into P2P streaming apps? According to http://www.freecast.org Not sure which one is easist to use or would work the best. One person would be the source for the live feed, then using this P2P streaming technology, could share the live feed with an unlimited number of other viewers. A season pass wouldn't be too bad, split between enough people. The neat thing is the source only needs an average speed connection to make this technology work. Edited April 20, 2015 by bgeery
Asojima Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 (edited) 11 April: FWIW, for the last 2 days, I have been able to run Niji for several hours on both my Win 8.1 desktop and my Win 7 laptop without getting the dreaded ppp_release error message. Perhaps the latest Windows Update packages contained a change which solved the problem? I am still getting the full set of Japanese channels (except NHK-E) on Niji. 16 April: Knew it couldn't last. Today, none of the stations will load. 26 April: Now getting all channels except NHK-E, and the 15 minute ppp_release timeout problem has not returned. Edited April 25, 2015 by Asojima
Asojima Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 No NIJI for me at present. That's strange. I am still getting all but NHK E on both Win 7 and Win 8.1 with no ppp_release timeouts.
kuroimori Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 NIJI doesn't work at all - every channel, program stalls very often (Win 8 Notebook, Firefox 37.0.2). With no time and nerves to sort it out, it is either UBS, which works fine on both the notebook and Smartphone (Samsung S5) or a monthly subscription to jpPlayer at 30 USD (which is about 27 EUR, or 1.80 EUR per basho day). I think I will opt for the latter, as my Mongol listening comprehension is still at about 0%...
torquato Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Currently OK for me... NHK horseracing... Well... Sounds like the p2p net is somehow biased.
Asojima Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 UBS is now carrying sumo on the main channel rather than the Global one. 3
Asojima Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 NIJI is carrying sumo on the TV Asahi channel setting!!!
Asojima Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) May 27 - Niji is back to 'Under Construction" on all but the final four. - The UBS archives for Days 1 - 3 have been removed. Looks like about a 20 day retention on the archives.May 28 - Niji is back with all channels except NHK E, and UBS archives for Day 4 are gone.May 29 - Niji down. Network error. June 8 - Niji still down. Network error. UBS Day 15 gone. Archive retention is about 16 days.July 10 - Niji still down. Network error. UBS and UBS Global live and archives are still functioning. torquato Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 What's the current status for Niji? Could someone report? I had a hard drive crash a week ago. First time in my live with a serious loss of data. What a schlepp. Now trying to prepare for the Nagoya basho. Instaling Niji in a newly installed Win in a newly installed VM... Well, couldn't download Niji from the official site. A File I found somehow somehwere on the web installs and runs, but gives a network error on login. Just want to sanity check if it's my fault or Niji is really not working.
Asojima Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 See Above. Niji has been showing a network error since May 29. 1
luispereira Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Yup, no NIJI for YOU!! will you be able to "broadcast" to us your daily serving of the basho kinta?
Kintamayama Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Yup, no NIJI for YOU!! will you be able to "broadcast" to us your daily serving of the basho kinta? I'll do my best as usual.. Who knows?? 2
Fukurou Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 FWIW, UBS Global lists "Nagoya Grand Sumo delivered directly bashyo" (according to the page translation) from 16.00 to 18.00 local. As I type this the stream says the time is 11.15 local.
Asojima Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) FWIW, UBS Global lists "Nagoya Grand Sumo delivered directly bashyo" (according to the page translation) from 16.00 to 18.00 local. As I type this the stream says the time is 11.15 local. This is the normal live redirection of the NHK broadcast of the makuuchi division. It normally starts at about 5-10 minutes after the hour with Mongolian commentary replacing the Japanese. About 10 minutes after its completion and for the next 16 days, you can watch an archived rebroadcast of the 2 hour program by clicking on the 1600 entry in the schedule for the day of the matches. This is a return to UBS Global channel. The base UBS channel had picked it up for the last 2 bashos. Flash!! UBS is NOW showing live Mongolian Wrestling (Bokh) from the Naadam. sumodrax Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Hi every one :-D It's look like Niji is out of order and have been for a time being..sadly! UBS Global is shopping/freezing from the stream and that is not good to. Hopeful it will stop doing that soon...HOPEFULLY! (Bow...)
inhashi Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 (edited) UBS Global currently working on my end. a little feature of Terunofuji going on now. http://tv.onair.mn/watch/ubs_global Definetly stop and go. Refreshing the page helps if it's stuck... I guess... Edited July 12, 2015 by inhashi
luispereira Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I tried to seek all over google for a nhk streaming...no luck...:s the ubs stops a bit.. niji no work, we definitely must be able to secure more video streaming alternatives and/or have more people recording the bouts and sharing...
Fay Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 some videos uploaded in the database http://sumodb.sumogames.de/Results.aspx?b=201507&d=1 11
kuroimori Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 No Sumo on UBS Global but some kind of parade / festival is broadcast.
Jakusotsu Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 No Sumo on UBS Global but some kind of parade / festival is broadcast.Sumo is on the "normal" UBS channel today, and so far it's running much more smoothly than yesterday. 1
