Gurowake Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Yeah, I seem to recall seeing something that might have been about payment last basho (or whenever I last tried watching it, which is rare since Makuuchi is like 5am my time), but that didn't stop me from being able to watch it.
Asojima Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) The live broadcast is still free. They have removed the login formerly needed for the live broadcast. Unfortunately, the archives have now gone to a subscription. It looks like the monthly fee for the archives is reasonable, but I haven't tried it. FWIW, UBS Global is gone. The live coverage should still be available at link. Sumo coverage should start just after 4pm Japan Standard Time with the beginning of Makuuchi. It will be the NHK video feed with Mongolian commentary. Edited March 13, 2016 by Asojima 4

egparis18 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Thanks Asojima. I tried to pay for archive access last time, my post's somewhere above. The fee is only about $4.50, and it's not that difficult to follow the payment procedure using Google translate. My problem was that the bank transfer got refused - at my end or theirs, I don't know.
sesom Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Thanks Asojima. I tried to pay for archive access last time, my post's somewhere above. The fee is only about $4.50, and it's not that difficult to follow the payment procedure using Google translate. My problem was that the bank transfer got refused - at my end or theirs, I don't know. I tried two different credit cards (last tournament) and for both the transaction failed. Maybe only mongolian cards are legit. Anyway, live stream looks solid. 1
egparis18 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Thank you Sesom. Has anyone else got a pop-up on his screen at UBS saying 'Please fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.' ? Wonder if it's worth sending a 'What's wrong with my credit-card?' message.
Atenzan Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Anyone knows what UBS is up to? Sumo is not on yet...
Gernobono Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Anyone knows what UBS is up to? Sumo is not on yet... will start after songcontest and commercials

hamcornheinz Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 anybody gonna start a honbasho spoiler-ful topic?
Atenzan Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 anybody gonna start a honbasho spoiler-ful topic? I took the liberty,it's up.
Asojima Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Reminder: Japan only uses Standard Time. For those shifting to Daylight saving time, the matches will start one hour "later".
Asojima Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016 (edited) Day 5 - As of 16:00 JST, all of the Mongolian TV channels supported by tv.onair.mn (including UBS) are not being shown. Update: UBS is back up by 16:27 with the NHK Sumo feed. Edited March 17, 2016 by Asojima
luispereira Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 Kyokai cancelled ustream. is there any good new alternatives? we need more people to provide sumo video content.. if anyone knows sources for the natsu 16 please contact. cheers 1
Benevolance Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 The only NSK source video is now the app, correct? IIRC it's $5 USD a month to unlock the Makuuchi matches. There is currently nothing that reliably shares Juryo and lower, no?
Asashosakari Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Are the lowest divisions back on NHK BS these days? After all, the prime reason they extended the internet coverage to below juryo in 2010 (or whenever) was because NHK was no longer showing most of it...
Akinomaki Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 NHK last basho started with the last sandanme bouts. We still have no response if the new Softbank service really covered the lower divisions last basho, the service gets extended to the non-Softbank users only after the basho.
Asojima Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 UBS again has live streaming of the makuuchi division scheduled to start at 4:00 PM JST. Coverage will be the NHK video with Mongolian commentary. 5
Jakusotsu Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Is that guy on the left on the UBS channel somehow related to Terunofuji? They look very much alike.
rzombie1988 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 BTW, if you guys need something to record a stream, I recommend Snagit or Camtasia. You can find both online through torrents. They have a video recorder and it's legit as simple as picking the area you want and pressing the record button. Snagit has crappier quality, Camtasia will have near perfect quality, but you will have to save the file as something for youtube or CD to get it down in size(it will be HUGE otherwise). 1
kuroimori Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Just tried to tune in to the UBS stream. They showed a summary of yesterday's bouts but after that no live coverage of Day 7. Am I using the wrong channel?
