Kintamayama Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 Hey Moti, I think you have mixed up Shogi and Myogiryu... The Komusubi went kyujo, not the Ozeki. Perhaps that long Tokitenku bout really made you fall asleep ;-) Ganzohnesushi I have no idea what you're talking about (Oops!)
Morty Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 When I try to watch the video I'm getting a "private" message and I'm not allowed to see it One of two reasons: A) I decided to charge $50 a minute to watch. B) I screwed up so royally and shamefully that I had to take down the original out of sheer shame and more shame and self-loathing disgust and more words. Yes, it's B. Everything is fine now, hopefully, unless I called Fujiazuma Houchiyama or some other usual cock-up. Thankyou very much. I should also have said how much I appreciate the excellent service you provide every basho. Awesome work! 1
Andreas21 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I am getting the "This video is private" message when I try to watch DowntownHyena's Juryo coverage. I tried a proxy but it didn't change it. Any help is appreciated!
Kotomikey Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I am getting the same, "This video is private" message.
Kintamayama Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) Day 5- edit- abut better and some commentary in Japanese where applicable. Edited January 16, 2014 by Kintamayama 14
Ganzohnesushi Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Thanks a ton for this, Moti. Indeed this is better than nothing and a small lifeline for us blind, Sumo-thirsty ones. Ganzohnesushi 1
Morty Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Thanks for the effort. Out of interest, was that the quality of the Ustream feed?
Kintamayama Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Thanks for the effort. Out of interest, was that the quality of the Ustream feed? No, the quality of the ustream feed is the one we had online till yesterday. This is me with very bad screen capture software trying to capture a very choppy broadcast.
krindel Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Kinta, you are a hero, and I thank you deeply from the bottom of my heart for all the effort and for not giving up on us... P.S. Besides,by Kyokai pricing standards, that should be worth at least 5$ a day. 2
Manekineko Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Moti comments are priceless, in both meanings of the word. Thank you! (Heart...) 2

Lost ballet fan Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Thanks Kintayama, much more than I expected. Can we all pool together and buy you the seasonal pass or will that jeopardize your account too much? (I'd be happy to front the next day...)
Akinomaki Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 NHK news7 (hidden) day 5 video: Kisenosato, Kotoshogiku http://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/html/20140116/k10014541991000.html
Jakusotsu Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVuAw4kWWh8 Looks like Kise took the tale of the wooden rooster the wrong way. Thanks for sharing!
Naganoyama Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Cobbled or not, that is so much better than nothing that it is hard to express in words. (Jumping in ecstasy...)
Sumozumo Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Kintamayama, our group is watching your videos to find sumo. We support you!
Kintamayama Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 At this point, I'm out. Contrary to popular belief, I have been downloading my own stuff these last years and doing all the work, and not piggybacking on others' videos. This basho, I joined forces with Araibira and used his videos for the digest (after he generously offered me to do so) because I don't have adequate screen-capture software. If I did, I would pay the $120 and get on with it. Yesterday's digest mostly sucked and was mostly a useless hassle. If I find some quality vids to use I will, but till then, I won't try to capture the very shaky NIJI stuff like I did yesterday. We shall see.
kuroimori Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 sad to hear although understanable given the recent hassle. I will really miss your comments - they added another dimension to Ozumo. One reason more to hope that the NSK marketing dinosaurs come to senses very soon.

A quick search gives me, e.g., such a link http://www.digitale-infoprodukte.de/contents/10-leistungsstarke-video-screencapture-tools/ It's in German, but the idea should be clear: links to various screen capture tools. Some of them cost a fortune, some are reasonably priced, some are free. Edited January 17, 2014 by yorikiried by fate

yorikiried by fate Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Could you define "suck"? Then it would be easier to help searching. (Don't go Mac. They electrocute your brain. Took me years to recover...)
Kintamayama Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 Araibira posted this today-I think it's great. A million thanks from us all. 10
Kintamayama Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 Could you define "suck"? Then it would be easier to help searching. (Don't go Mac. They electrocute your brain. Took me years to recover...) They just don't capture motion smoothly. Simple as that. couple that with the already jittery stream/NHK stream and you get what you saw on my videos yesterday. It could also be that my computer sucks, but that's another story.
Usagi Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Thanks a million times to Moti and Araibiria. Other than Moti, I was very glad to have his work for day 5. And I sure would miss his comments. Many many many thanks to Araibiria for putting up day 6. I don't know though, if the format he chose, was due to copyright reasons. I sure msiseds the original sound and wasn't to happy getting to know who won before watching the bout. But who am I to complain! I mean this totaly serious. Would it be an option to buy Moti a Mac and an apropriate streamcatchign-software? Everything is better than to give the NHK 120$ per Basho. 1
