Tochinofuji Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 In the Tokitenku - Kaisei bout, looked like a flash knockout from the tsuppari/harite across the jaw to me.

Treblemaker Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 These guys are slipping and sliding so much it's like they've set up shop on the sawdust floor of an old synagogue. Watch the footwork today. Some of these guys are actually sliding backwards as they're being pushed to the edge.

Bugman Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) These guys are slipping and sliding so much it's like they've set up shop on the sawdust floor of an old synagogue. Watch the footwork today. Some of these guys are actually sliding backwards as they're being pushed to the edge. It's almost as if they'd trained for it, like there was some sort of thing they did in practice that prepared them for that... ;-) My curiousity is going to have to make me expose my ignorance, (again!) Usually i'd keep quiet and pretend i understand but i don't have a clue and i really want to know! What's going on? :) Edited November 22, 2013 by Bugman

The clay used in Nagoya and Kyushu is much more slippery than that used in Tokyo. The rikishi have footing problems in both of these. 1
