Far too young. :-( After his retirement he became a sumo instructor at Toyo University-affiliated Ushiku High School.

Here he is on the right at the 60th All-Japan Amateur Championships a couple of years ago:

And with his akeni and Hanshin Tigers kesho-mawashi:

It has become known today that former ms37 Musashiumi and then pro-wrestler Jun Izumida had been found dead on the 31st. The police assumes that he died around the 25th from a heart attack, the funeral already took place. He was only 51. http://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/prores/mens_prores/649274/

I am sorry for him, and may he rest in peace.  But no one found him for a week? Ew... no sense of smell in Japan?

Today was the funeral service for ex-Tokoju - Oyama-oyakata from Takasago-ichimon and active Tokoyama attended - because of the soken, not so many more from the NSK
