rhyen Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) FB broadcast https://www.facebook.com/abematv/videos/1195974960536345/ OMG, is that the previous Kimura Shonosuke officiating the bout? And his ex-tsukebito & bow-twirler, Minanosato, handing him chikaramizu in the east corner. Edited December 31, 2017 by rhyen
rhyen Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 (edited) He has beaten the first 2 volunteers, and will now face the 1st of the 3 VIP, the judoka, Hiroshi Izumi. Best pre-bout ritual, bout and post-bout shoot off goes to the masked pro-wrestler who got unmasked by Asashoryu in the middle of their bout. Edited December 31, 2017 by rhyen

Kintamayama Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 In short, Asashouryuu won it by beating all 8 opponents, including Sapp and ex-Ozeki disgraced Kotomitsuki in what looked like quite an emotional aftermath for him. 1
Seijakuzan Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Any chance a recap will be available? I have limited Japanese reading comprehension, but I found a clip of the Sapp fight. Such hinkaku from Sapp, and good to see the thunderous belt slap from Asa was in full form. 2
rhyen Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 The recaps are above in the abema YouTube channel.

Washuyama Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I saw a 15 min video posted on Facebook. It was a digest type of all the matches with only the matches (and a few replays). I would love link it here but I'm a compu-idiot. The originator was "Hula-Mongolia" if any of you would like to take a shot.

ED and proxy set (again SSL seems to be enough, but it gets checked all the time), but only a few seconds at a time - no quality settings for the PC, though in the playlist from 180p to 1080p Edit2: the playlist itself can be downloaded, and used as a batch to download all .ts chunks of the video: 10 files for 1 min. - and after about 10 files the download freezes. None of them shows anything in VLC though, and I don't know yet how to make them into a proper video - invalid input data Edited January 4, 2018 by Akinomaki 1

It is a viable translation - I would use shinkou only for belief and faith - and while it is mostly religious, it doesn't have to be - in Japan he would be revered as a god, just like Ieyasu - the Shogun.

It is the 3rd biggest manga magazine in Japan, behind weekly shonen jump and weekly shonen magazine, with about 800 000 copies per monthly edition. http://www.hochi.co.jp/topics/20180306-OHT1T50256.html Asashoryu is known for his violent temperament, but also has a subtle side - and may easily be offended by ordinary conversation. About 10 years ago at a Hokkaido jungyo, as the talk about dinner went: "Yokozuna, let's go and eat Jingisukan", his smile disappeared: "Why is that the name for food? Really disagreeable." Once at asa-geiko, the news that Japanese experts would be leading excavations in the steppe region of the (UNESCO world heritage site since 2015) sacred landscape said to contain the tomb of Chinggis Khaan, he said: "Can this not even be stopped by negotiating with the Japanese government?" http://www.hochi.co.jp/topics/column/20180307-OHT1T50114.html 2
