Zentoryu Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 This went quicker than I expected it too... (Holiday feeling...) Here is the new Banzuke for Nagoya 2004: Kintamayama returns to the Ozeki ranks after earning the 10 wins required for re-promotion. Ozeki Ookihito will be Kadoban for next basho. The top of Makuuchi was a bit difficult as there were a lot of KK rikishi competing for essentially the same positions. I found that I had to be a bit more harsh on demotions than I would have under normal circumstances. Kofuji, Leonishiki and Heikotoriki may feel particularly hard done by. Six rikishi rose from Juryo to Makuuchi, while no less than 7 rikishi made the jump from Makushita to the paid ranks. As you all know, we changed over to a 7-bout win/loss equivalent format for Makushita and below. I did this primarily to help make the lower division banzuke more dynamic. I can not express properly how PLEASED I am at the result. A 4-3 generally meant a jump of about 3 to 5 spots, a 5-2 an average of 9 ranks up, a 6-1 an average of 15 ranks up, the one 7-0 earned a promotion of 28 ranks. For MK's it was the reverse of the above. This created a LOT of movement up and down. Those with KK will be extremely pleased as they rose much higher than they would have under the old format. (Enjoying a beer...) Tomitsuki Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Unfortunately, according to website records you did not request Kosho status and as I didn't recieve such a request from you directly in the two months since the last RotoSumo banzuke was released, I had no choice but to treat you as absent. The rules are very clear about this, if you don't request kosho, you cannot recieve kosho.EDIT: To everyone out there who may be considering an abscence for next basho, it may be best to not only request kosho from the website but to send me an e-mail about it as well so I can confirm kosho status for you. At 2004.05.05. 11:06 CET I sent an e-mail to lmilliard@snet.com from the website's rules page. In this e-mail I requested a kyujo status. AND, I tried to use the website's form to request a kyujo, but it seems it doesn't work. So..., what could I do other than? After all I accept it (0-0-7, no kosho), but... (Neener, neener...) (You are going off-topic...) PS.: Sorry for my bad english... (Shaking head...)
