ScreechingOwl Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Shouldn't this topic be renamed "Robo's Last Strand"? And since when did Takamiyama become the slightly svelter doppleganger of Francis Ford Coppala? 1

Akinomaki Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Digest of cutters (new) Takamisakari story told before the final cut by Takamiyama, appearing at 5:16 Furiwake with family 3
Akinomaki Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Sankei Sports for the last 5 days of the year has brought daily long 2 page articles interviewing Takamisakari/Furiwake-oyakata – mostly the same stories, but in more detail. The 3rd article focusses on his middle school 3rd year and recounts his first major amateur title, chūgaku yokozuna. Skipping the real names: first at the Aomori preliminary tournament, beating in the 3-way play-off same years Bushuyama (Onogawa-oy.) and Wakanosato to represent the prefecture in the national tournament in the kokugikan. Beating there Miyabiyama (Futagoyama-oy.) in the preliminary rounds, then beating Kotomitsuki in the semi-f. after a kind of mono-ii and like on a rail-road track moving the opponent in the final straight out. Magaki-oyakata wanted to scout him, but also while wanting a high school degree he thought the win to be a one time luck: before and after that time in school sumo he had to struggle. At last in his 3rd high school year he beat Kotomitsuki in the final of the kokutai juniors and with that proceeded to the Nichidai sumo team. http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20131227/sum13122710000001-n1.html http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20131228/sum13122810000003-n1.html http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20131229/sum13122910000001-n1.html http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20131230/sum13123010000000-n1.html http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20131231/sum13123110000000-n1.html
