Kintamayama Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) Day 1- it's going to be tough this basho as I'm suddenly inexplicably busy, but I shall gambarize!! Edited January 27, 2013 by Kintamayama 12
Kintamayama Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 Oooh! Don't they look slim? Yea, screwed it up but will be fixed-my intro somehow made everyone look thinner.. 2
Bugman Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Thank you very much Kintamayama, i'm glad i got to watch the intro earlier, you rock! :)
Higenofuji Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Fantastic summary - makes being on the other side of the world much easier to bear! Agree that no monoii on Kotooshu's 'victory' seems doubtful. Will look out for your summaries from now on. Cheers
Yubinhaad Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Never thought I'd say this, but I really enjoyed the Gagamaru-Aran power struggle. Rough day for the Aomori sekitori... Thanks Kintamayama! 1
Takanorappa Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Yea, screwed it up but will be fixed-my intro somehow made everyone look thinner.. Um. About that intro... I'm not really sure I want to know the answer. :-D :-O :-P Thanks for doing the videos again! They really are great. 5
Kintamayama Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) The answer is simple-those are my cool "rocker" pants for when I go out and the paparazzi harass me. I'm wearing my blue sweats which I will feature majorly in tomorrow's clip, as I have figured out what screwed up my original video. But look behind me-all the sumo paraphernalia and you look for my pants?? Edited January 13, 2013 by Kintamayama
rzombie1988 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Araibira, big thanks man. Without you and Jason I would have never rediscovered sumo.
Bugman Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Magnificent effort by Toyonoshima, how he didn't get KO'd by the first, wind-up harite is a miracle and then to stay in for so long after, i really wish he had won.
kawika Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I want to share a message I just sent araibira. I attended sumo on Sunday. One of my guest was a personal friend of Isshinryu. I searched YouTube and discovered multiple uploads from you. When I sent her a link, her reply was - "cool! he said there are people who put all the torikumi movies right away to youtube. they review by do their review by using them." Did you know this? Pretty darn cool!!! ------ To think that rikishi are using content that araibira is posting in YouTube, that rocks!!!! 5
Fukurou Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 For day 4, I turned on the video feed just in time to see a match in which the east-side rikishi got dropped flat on his back across the bales. He absolutely did not move for the longest time. He was helped off the doyho and down the aisle, putting absolutely no weight on his left leg. This was in maezumo (no names/ranks on the video feed) - did anyone happen to capture this match?
Fukurou Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Check this thread:http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=30816&page=3 Asashosakari uploads then posts maezumo bouts. Day 4 playlist http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3oHIWgGXp-8qZ8oxkmbDl5AUJ7acQOKq&feature=view_all Thanks for the links. It didn't even occur to me that the maezumo matches were being posted here too

Bugman Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Thank you very much Kinta :) Any chance of Harumafuji having touched the dohyo with his knee at the tachi-ai? Looks like a very quick slip to me, also, what do you guys think about Toyonoshima ever becoming Ozeki, could he do it?

I also saw that but upon reflection, no.. and the shimpan there was the guy who screwed up the call last basho, so..
Bugman Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 It looks even more convincing in motion, to me it seems like a very quick slip and rebound off the floor with the knee.Ah well, i suppose when you are Yokozuna the benefit of the doubt is going to be given to you more often than not, much like Manchester United. :-D
