Kintamayama Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 An 'uninjured' Baruto is a mere future possibility as of today. Real Baruto is a rikishi unable to mount the dohyo for the second straight basho and if can't get back on his feet for January he will have to stay at sekiwake for at least another two basho, and rightly so. If by "he can't get back on his feet for January" you mean he will be kyujo, then he'll be regarded as a 0-15 and will definitely not remain Sekiwake for 2 bashos. Unless I misunderstood you and you meant he won't win at least 10..
shumitto Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 "By not getting back on his feet" I meant anything fewer than 10 wins - now I see this meaning could have been better conveyed by another expression - anyway, with 8 or 9 wins he would be still 2 basho shy of a repromotion should everything go accoridng to plan in March and May.
Swami Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Even so, he is 28 now, and his best bet of returning to ozeki is straightaway if he can win 10 in January. As he gets older the injuries will take longer to heal. Swami
