Also, Nikkan only posts the top 10 everyday, so I have no idea how many kensho someone not on that list has. Harumafuji picked up 4 against Shohozan. Homasho had the second highest total of the day, earning 8 from an upset win against Ozeki Kotoshogiku. Gagamaru took down a hobbled Baruto in a rematch after a mono-ii, taking home his first 5 envelopes of the basho. Goeido's first win of the tournament, coming against Kotooshu, netted him 3 envelopes, while Kakuryu and Kisenosato collected 2 and 1 kensho respectively. 1

Harumafuji kept pace with the Yokozuna, moving to 5-0 after forcing out Tochinoshin, picking up 6 kensho in the process. Kisenosato also moved to 5-0 courtesy of a win over Gagamaru that netted him 4 envelopes. Homasho, Kakuryu and Myogiryu took home 2 envelopes each, while the gyoji handed Aminishiki and Kaisei a single kensho apiece after their respective victories. Toyonoshima dumped Kotooshu with a sukuinage that looked rather painful for the Ozeki and netted Toyo two envelopes, allowing him to rejoin the lead group after a two day abscence. Hakuho picked up 28 envelopes after downing Gagamaru, while Harumafuji slapped down Homasho for 9. Kisenosato collected 7 from a win over Toyonoshima. Kakuryu forced out winless Aoiyama to earn 6 kensho. Shohozan and Aminishiki took home 2 and 1 kensho respectively. 1

But I'm back now... No changes in the Yusho race as we still have five rikishi zensho as of day 8, including the top 3 on the kensho leader board. Hakuho has collected 62 envelopes over the last two days, while Harumafuji and Kisenosato picked up 24 each. 1

Homasho surprised Kisenosato with a Hikkake, taking the 6 envelopes placed on the bout by sponsors. Goeido took 4 kensho and Chiyotairyu 1 from their respective Day 9 wins. 2

The win left Harumafuji as the sole remaining zensho rikishi and netted him 7 envelopes. Tochiozan's surprise victory against the Yokozuna added 27 envelopes to his total, while Kakuryu grabbed 2. Kisenosato threw down Goeido for 9 kensho and Aminishiki slapped down Okinoumi for 1. 1

Hakuho slapped down Kisenosato to stay a win behind and setup a huge showdown with Harumafuji on Senshuraku. The Yokozuna picked up 40 kensho. Miyogiryu picked up his 10th win and four kensho after defeating Takekaze. Tochiozan collected 3 envelopes while Aminishiki added one to his total. 1

Some 49 kensho banners paraded arounded the dohyo and the Ozeki looked pretty pleased to collect the big stack of envelopes after the hard fought contest. Kakuryu defeated fellow Ozeki Kisenosato, picking up 23 kensho. Goeido and Aminishiki earned 5 envelopes apiece, while Homasho took home 3. 1
