Seriously not good. After re-watching his reaction after the bout, he is clearly into shock from pain :-(

How good was Kise in dealing with Gagamaru though? Complete control throughout and powered the heaviest man in the comp back across the Dohyo and out. Really impressive

Tachiai games. Without a good hit and momentum, Gaga is middling at best. Drawing a matta, Kise forced Gaga into a cautious tachiai, and was able to launch himself into a timidly rising opponent.

There he goes again with this tachi-ai crap - it works for now, but will backfire if he tries it against Ama or the Hak.

Ditto from me. I think there's a potential sub-culture video fad there (if that makes any sense). But if it got too popular the NSK guys would probably want a cut of any revenues.

I can't cite chapter and verse, or basho and bout, but I believe he has pulled that crap successfully against at least Harumafuji, if not Hakuho.

And his opponents get fingers shaken at him when they henka in retaliation. Why is he being allowed to get away with it? It wasn't even subtle this time; he visibly faked Gaga out.

Because he's an Ozeki?

If you care to remember Kotomitsuki's pre-bout bugging, the Kid's sideshow is nothing to write home about.

You can tell it's a basho that's low on henka when people spend so much time complaining about Kisenosato instead.

Wow, a lot of mono-ii this tournament. Time to replace the gyoji with a Hawk-Eye system :-P

There goes Takanoyama again, if you're a big rikishi having him as an opponent must be like grappling with an incredibly determined coat-hanger, he really is fantastic, also i really have no reason for this, but ikioi reminds me a little of Takamisakari.

Takanoyama! No way he could have pulled off that cling-on move at the end if he had a belly in the way.
