Kintamayama Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 New Sanyaku Aoiyama has an infection in his right year with high fever and his preparations are non-existent at the moment. Diagnosis- otitis externa, inflammation of the outer ear. He did not take part in this morning's keiko session and could do only shiko and teppo, quickly going out of breath. he was looking quite despondent and refused to answer the press' questions.
botev1921 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Usually this heals in 3-4 days, but if he has fever that shows they did not take care of the ear at all when it first became inflamed. Severe cases could take up to 10 days to resolve!
Bugman Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) I am glad to hear the problem is in the outside of the ear and not the inside, much easier to heal, i've had otitis media in the left ear for the best part of two years (glue ear) since i caught a seriously bad flu virus with no luck in getting rid of it despite trying every nasal spray under the sun, i got a blow a balloon with my nose just to hear properly, :-) get well soon Aoiyama! Akinomaki Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 On the 5th Aoiyama re-started moushi-ai, 29 bouts including 4 with Hakuho. At an opponents sidestep his posture crumbled easily, lacking brilliance. Kasugano-oyakata: "Completely bad. He shows no eagerness. He doesn't understand his position (as a new sanyaku)". Aoiyama: "Still 60-70%. I quickly want to regain power", after keiko with feeble breath.

Fukurou Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Looks like he is going to get crushed Well, in a very few hours now, we'll find out if he'll even have the opportunity to "get crushed' (translation = kyujo list for makuuchi and juryo coming out soon)
Kintamayama Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Everyone is in. Aoiyama-Harumafuji. I'm going with Aoiyama. He will win without listening. Edited September 7, 2012 by Kintamayama 1
Igordemorais Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I think the top dogs are going to hand Aoiyama his ass wrapped in nori, then tie a ribbon around it and yorikiri it all the way back to Bulgaria
Asabiru Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I think the top dogs are going to hand Aoiyama his ass wrapped in nori, then tie a ribbon around it and yorikiri it all the way back to Bulgaria He'll get more wins than Tochinoshin. Book it.

Book it. I agree with both comments ... to a certain extent. I expect both of them will have their ranks 'corrected' by the upper sanyaku in the first week. ^_^ / * °_° I'm hoping Aoiyama's infection won't be bothering him so much by the time he gets to the easier match ups. I find Tochinoshin too unreliable - Aoiyama hasn't been in Makuuchi long enough to decide about that for him yet.

Bugman Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I think the top dogs are going to hand Aoiyama his ass wrapped in nori, then tie a ribbon around it and yorikiri it all the way back to Bulgaria Well if that did happen Bulgaria would still be represented by an Ozeki no less, i can only dream of having that kind of strong representation in Sumo for my country, as an Aoiyama fan i hope he gets better and makes you eat your words! In a friendly manner of speaking of course ;-)
