Kotoshogiku at an event to present the special digital edition of the monthly magazin "Sumo", together with HE Demon Kogure. He was elected handsome ozeki by applause of the around 400 spectators. He himself said "I have a Buddha face, it (handsome) is Kotooshu." He showed a bitter smile to Demon's comment to this result of "It's yaocho".

That sounds pretty interesting...the digital edition of the magazine will be available in cooperation between publisher BBM and online bookstore honto.jp (formerly known as bk1.jp, my choice for buying the annual rikishi directories without Amazon.jp's extortionate postage fees ***shameless plug***). The current print edition came out just today, the digital version will be available September 6. I'm tempted to give it a whirl...

My latest querry has yielded this as the latest publication available. Is it the same you‘ve mentioned ?

I remember an interview with Kakka in which he stated that he felt Kotoshogiku was the guy closest to becoming a Yokozuna. They must be good friends, since Kotoshogiku has about the same odds of becoming Yokozuna as Takanoyama has of going on a weight loss diet

Wasn't it Kotomitsuki? And to make matters worse, it was after Kotomitsuki had been expelled.

That's the annual rikishi directory (2012 edition). I was referring to this.

Edit: I should probably add that bk1.jp never carried the monthly mag, and even at the rebranded honto.jp they only have the brand-new edition available, and last year's September issue (for some reason). I'm guessing they've added the print mag to their offerings because they're going to carry the electronic version now.

I'd be pretty pissed if I was a rikishi and my friend made that yaocho joke in public in front of me....

Hmmm I wouldn't say so, nobody (except me of course ;-) ) ever expected Shoki to become Ozeki. I still have trust in him even to make it to Yokozuna but after Kakuryu of course :-D.

Look I'm a huge Kotoshogiku fan. In the Giku x Kisenosato thing they have going, I rooted for him all the way. And I legitimately like the guy, but he only knows one move! He is like 3-31 against Hakuho because the top dogs know how to deal with it. 3-31 against Hakuho is not, unfortunately, a Yokozuna performance.
