Kintamayama Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) Day 1: Edited July 22, 2012 by Kintamayama 8
Bugman Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 That poor bloke in the front row must be wondering why all the rikishi want to sit on him (Laughing...) I thought Wakakoyu's effort against Goeido was really good and Hak the deserved winner after the rematch there, i don't think he's lost his confidence myself, Toyonoshima is certainly no walk-over and in the rematch he was dominated, thank you for this Kintamayama it's great to see the compilations back again :)
Fukurou Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 (edited) Thanks for doing this again. I'm not going to be around much during middle of the basho, so it'll be great to be able to catch up :-) eta - on viewing, Kotooshu doesn't seem to be using his right leg for much more than balancing. He appeared (to me, anyway) to be driving off his left foot. I wonder how long he can get away with this. Or will we see rikishi taking it easy on him, as some rikishi apparently feel sympathy for him in this situation? Edited July 8, 2012 by Fukurou
Bugman Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 (edited) "when Henka's go bad" (Laughing...) My favourite Sumo documentary! Aminishiki showed a lot of effort but couldn't overpower Giku in the end, little mercy for poor Osh's leg today from Goeido it would seem and good stuff from Toyonoshima, but Baruto doesn't lose often. Is Komosubi rank always the "poisoned chalice" that it currently looks like to me? i cannot remember any Komosubi doing well since i started watching Sumo, although admittedly my memory is poor. Kaioshoryu Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Great videos and great comments as per usual Kinta!
Naganoyama Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Brilliant piece of work here! Side comments, sideshows, side of beef anyone?
yorikiried by fate Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Thanks, for the vids, Moti! I'm not really able to watch the stream this time around, so you are my saviour. Brilliant subtitles on day 4!
Kintamayama Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Day 5: Edited July 12, 2012 by Kintamayama 8
Bugman Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Great captions, "I'd just like to say, i'm a heavy metal fan" like it was a confession lol, hey i like some metal too (Punk rocker...) I'm curious though as to how Masunoyama having small lungs became popular knowledge, i'm not too sure of the size of my own hehe, i do pant a lot going up stairs so i don't know, i'm guessing mine may be the size of a couple of spectacle-cases, i think i should probably be more worried about the size of my brain, no telling how big or small that is either, though if i shake my head from side-to-side i do hear rattling. :-D Edited July 12, 2012 by Bugman 1
Kintamayama Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 Masunoyama underwent extensive checkups-that article should be here somewhere on the forum.
Vikanohara Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Well, if you got small lungs, best thing you can do is finish bouts in a blink of an eye. ;-)
Yubinhaad Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Just wanted to add my belated thanks to everyone for the videos - Kintamayama for the compilations, and everyone involved in the lower division coverage. I've been in catch-up mode for much of the basho so far and likely will be for the remainder too, so the videos are invaluable. Thanks all. (I am not worthy...)
Mukonoso Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Kotooshu wins by "yogurtkiri" heh heh... I get it. Thanks for the videos.
Gusoyama Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Thank you so much for the videos, Kintamayama! Had an excruciating week, and it was nice to catch up with these on a Friday night. 1
Kintamayama Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 Day 7-shaping up to be a great basho quality-wise as well as suspense-wise..: 5
Bugman Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) Brilliant comic timing on the slippers, had me laughing all the way through :) It was an exciting day, Harumafuji looks rock-solid and Takanoyama, it's a pity he didn't get the decision to go his way, looks like he won that one, considering his losses so far to have a legitimate win taken away is a real downer. Edited July 14, 2012 by Bugman
Mukonoso Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 (edited) Takanoyama should have gotten that Day 7 match. I also enjoyed the slipper commentaries. Edited July 14, 2012 by Mukonoso
