Chisaiyama Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 At 5-5 putting him against the other Komosubi at 1-9 would be a bit of a mismatch, I think instead a closer matchup would be the other Sekiwatke: Day 12 - Goeido
Yaochoyama Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 At this point I may as well get a little crazy too. Day 12 - Wakakoyu
Asashosakari Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Day 12: The leader is the only one to get Takekaze correct and goes two clear in the yusho race. 2 Goeido 2 Homasho 1 Takayasu 4 Gagamaru 1 Takekaze 2 Wakakoyu Yaochoyama (4-7-1) Y1 Asashosakari (9-3) Profomisakari (4-8) O1 Kuroimori (5-6-1) S1 Andonishiki (7-5) Jakusotsu (4-8) S2 Jejima (6-6) Oshirokita (3-7-2) K1 Holleshoryu (4-8) Shimodahito (3-9) M1 XiaoTan (5-7) Anjoboshi (0-0-12) M2 Chisaiyama (3-9) Gernobono (0-0-12) M3 Kotoviki (3-4-5) ScreechingOwl (0-0-12) M4 Myogiryu's aites: 1. O3E Kotooshu, 2. O3W Kakuryu, 3. O1W Baruto, 4. YE Hakuho, 5. O2E Kisenosato, 6. O1E Harumafuji, 7. O2W Kotoshogiku, 8. M4E Tochiozan, 9. M5E Okinoumi, 10. SE Toyonoshima, 11. KW Aminishiki, 12. M3W Takekaze
Asashosakari Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Turns out Day 12 wasn't so tricky after all. (Sorry!) Day 13, on the other hand...the five imaginary shimpan's scorecards show a split decision between the two M6's: Aoiyama for me, but really, could be anyone.
Profomisakari Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 (edited) My picks for the rest of the basho: Day 13 Homasho Day 14 Aoiyama Day 15 Takayasu Profomisakari Edited May 16, 2012 by Profomisakari
Chisaiyama Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 (edited) As is obvious by my 3-9 score, I haven't got a clue who they'll throw at him next. I always believed the raison d'etre for the joi' jin was to be cannon fodder for the nobility of the Makuuchi division but it's obvious after he mowed down 4 Ozekis, a Sekiwake and a Komosubi and made the Yokozuna mighty nervous that this cannon fires back. So maybe they're trying to protect the remaining Sanyaku. I strongly believe he should have already met Goeido and/or Homasho by virtue of their position but now I doubt that he will at all so I'll go with Day 13: Aoiyama Edited May 16, 2012 by Chisaiyama
Andonishiki Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 hmmm, he might not meet homasho, aran, takayasu or t-waka, as they have quite bad records so far. so who's left ? goeido, gagamaru, hibiki.... maybe aoi and 10-ho. for day 13, let it be Goeido.
Jejima Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 Day 13 - changing track. I'll go with Homasho (and just watch Gagamaru come out of the woodwork!)
Yaochoyama Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Day 13 - just time for a quick glance, so let's give Wakakoyu another shot
Asashosakari Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 (edited) Day 13: After several Takayasu picks on preceding days, nobody was foresighted enough to pick him this time, meaning a big ol' zero for us. 1 Goeido 2 Homasho 1 Aran 3 Gagamaru 2 Wakakoyu 2 Aoiyama 1 Kyokutenho Yaochoyama (4-8-1) Y1 Asashosakari (9-4) Profomisakari (4-9) O1 Kuroimori (5-7-1) S1 Andonishiki (7-6) Jakusotsu (4-9) S2 Jejima (6-7) Oshirokita (3-8-2) K1 Holleshoryu (4-8-1) Shimodahito (3-10) M1 XiaoTan (5-8) Anjoboshi (0-0-13) M2 Chisaiyama (3-10) Gernobono (0-0-13) M3 Kotoviki (3-5-5) ScreechingOwl (0-0-13) M4 Myogiryu's aites: 1. O3E Kotooshu, 2. O3W Kakuryu, 3. O1W Baruto, 4. YE Hakuho, 5. O2E Kisenosato, 6. O1E Harumafuji, 7. O2W Kotoshogiku, 8. M4E Tochiozan, 9. M5E Okinoumi, 10. SE Toyonoshima, 11. KW Aminishiki, 12. M3W Takekaze, 13. M1W Takayasu --- Today's whitewash has ensured that Andonishiki will be the sole shukun-sho winner of the basho. The gino-sho goes to Asashosakari, as he's 7 points ahead in the standings with a maximum of only 6 still available. And the list of kanto-sho contenders looks like this with two days to go: 1+ Asashosakari 2+ Kuroimori 3/2+ Andonishiki 3/2+ Profomisakari 3/2+ Yaochoyama 3+ Holleshoryu Asashosakari can secure the prize with a correct Day 14 prediction, otherwise the rest of the field have a chance to share in it. (Or possibly take it outright, in Kuroimori's case.) Edited May 17, 2012 by Asashosakari

He can't face goeido & Hibiki Though that would make a good fight!
Kotoviki Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 No idea, I give up on this game soon! Day 14 Aran Day 15 Gagamaru
