Andonishiki Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 fell asleep while cybersumo gaming.... shocker ! never happened before.... what is that south african red wine doing to me ?... anyway, I missed Day 5.... it's out already (kyoku10ho), so none of us adds any shiroboshi :-((( Let's start Day 6: Tochinowaka 1
XiaoTan Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Day 5 brings a distinct Nozeki - K3E Kyokutenho - who'd have thought of that: Day 1 - 11 of 11 selected Harumafuji Day 2 - 9 of 11 selected Hakuho Day 3 - 0 of 11 selected Baruto Day 4 - 3 of 11 selected Kotooshu Day 5 - 0 of 11 selected Kyokutenho Kuroimori and Chisaiyama lead with 3 wins. Yaochoyama (Y1E 2-3) Y1 Asashosakari (O1E 2-3) O1 Profomisakari (O1W 2-3) Kuroimori (S1W 3-2) S1 Andonishiki (S2E 2-2-1) S2 Jakusotsu (M1W 2-3) Oshirokita (M3E 0-0-5) K1 Jejima (K1E 1-2-2) Anjoboshi (M1E 2-0-3) M1 Holleshoryu (S1E 2-3) Chisaiyama (M2E 3-1-1) M2 Kotoviki (M2W 0-3-2) Gernobono (M3W Kosho) M3 Shimodahito (M4E 1-4) XiaoTan (2-3) M4 ScreechingOwl (0-0-5) Myogiryu's aites: 1. O1W Harumafuji, 2. YE Hakuho, 3. O1E Baruto, 4. O2W Kotooshu, 5. M3E Kyokutenho
Jakusotsu Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Wow, what a curveball. Back to... Day 6 - Kisenosato
Profomisakari Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Day6 Kise too for me please. It's a Kise game!! Profomisakari
Kotoviki Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I am sticking with Kisenosato, eventually he has to meet him! LOL
kuroimori Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 After I thought I was on their trail early on, the torikumi makers seem to have gone dark... No clue at all... Kisenosato on Day 6?
Chisaiyama Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Tossed that 8 ball into the trash. Let's try: Day 6: Yoshikaze
Yaochoyama Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Day 6 - Kisenosato First time I've had the same opponent 4 days in a row since Haru '09 when I picked Hakuho 4 consecutive days. Maybe they're saving him for senshuraku just to give us grief.
Asashosakari Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Even at the risk of facepalming in half an hour if it's Kise: I'm switching to Kotoshogiku for Day 5. Edit: Err, Day 6 of course. Edited March 15, 2012 by Asashosakari
Jakusotsu Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 At least one face free of palms... Day 7 - Kisenosato, goddammit!
Kotoviki Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I'm sticking with Kisenosato until senshuraku ;-p
Jejima Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 Day 7 - now that I have caught up with most (still can't believe I didn't pick on days 1 and 2....), I'll also pick Kisenosato for day 7.
Profomisakari Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Yes, not Kise, but Kakuryu for day 7! Profomisakari
Andonishiki Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 day 7: kisenosato (the biggest disappointment of this ba-show so far), closely followed by Mr Ikioi
Asashosakari Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 At least one face free of palms The most hilarious part - of the three intra-sanyaku matches I predicted (based on which I ended up with Myogi-Giku), Kisenosato-Aminishiki is the only one I got correct. That was enough to avoid the Kise trap again, obviously, but I can't say I really deserve this shiroboshi...
Yaochoyama Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 (edited) Day 6 standings: Day 1 - 11 of 11 selected Harumafuji Day 2 - 9 of 11 selected Hakuho Day 3 - 0 of 11 selected Baruto (leader - Kisenosato with 10) Day 4 - 3 of 12 selected Kotooshu (Kisenosato 8) Day 5 - 0 of 11 selected Kyokutenho (Kisenosato 7) Day 6 - 2 of 12 selected Kotoshogiku (Kisenosato 7) Asashosakari joins Kuroimori and Chisaiyama atop the leaderboard with 3 wins. Yaochoyama (Y1E 2-4) Y1 Asashosakari (O1E 3-3) O1 Profomisakari (O1W 2-4) Kuroimori (S1W 3-3) S1 Andonishiki (S2E 2-3-1) S2 Jakusotsu (M1W 2-4) Oshirokita (M3E 0-0-6) K1 Jejima (K1E 2-2-2) Anjoboshi (M1E 2-1-3) M1 Holleshoryu (S1E 2-3-1) Chisaiyama (M2E 3-2-1) M2 Kotoviki (M2W 0-4-2) Gernobono (M3W Kosho) M3 Shimodahito (M4E 1-5) XiaoTan (2-4) M4 ScreechingOwl (0-0-6) Myogiryu's aites: 1. O1W Harumafuji, 2. YE Hakuho, 3. O1E Baruto, 4. O2W Kotooshu, 5. M3E Kyokutenho, 6. O3W Kotoshogiku Edited March 15, 2012 by Yaochoyama
Doitsuyama Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Has any rikishi been picked more often in a single basho then Kisenosato this time (32 and counting)? It's a perfect first basho for the rikishi change so far, fitting the name somehow.
