Asashosakari Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Looks like my Day 14 worries were justified, they did put Tokitenku against the other M1 instead... Well, I dunno really. Day 15 Wakakoyu for me, but I might as well have put 20 names on a dartboard for that pick.
Yaochoyama Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Shohozan???... whatever they're smoking in their pipe these days must be pretty potent. Jejima Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 Need to pick differently to Asashosakari.... He's right, for this basho, it could be anyone, but why not Tokitenku for day 15?
Yaochoyama Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Need to pick differently from Asashosakari AND Jejima... Day 15 - Tochinoshin That gives Asashosakari another 38 names on the dartboard to cheer for. Well we'll know in a few hours.

Jejima Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Asashosakari, Kuroimori and Jejima each finish with 7 wins. Many thanks everyone for helping out. Who won the yusho? Well, the rules are that we look at the day 15 results first - and as Asashosakari lost that one, he is out. Then day 14, both Jejima and Kuroimori got that one wrong... Day 13, both correct Day 12, both correct Day 11, Kuroimori wrong, Jejima correct :-) So the yusho goes to Jejima, despite handicapping himself by missing the first two days (Whistling...)
Yaochoyama Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Special Prize Winners for Haru 2011 First comes the shukun-sho or outstanding performance prize for the one who correctly picks the aite the most consecutive days. After the long drought of losing Kisenosato picks from Days 3 to 9, three players ran off 4 in a row from Days 10 to 13. The winners are Jejima, Asashosakari and Yaochoyama. The kanto-sho or fighting spirit prize is given to the one who limits their worse streak of incorrect aite picks to the shortest number of consecutive days. Jejima and Asashosakari were able to limit their losing streaks to 3 days, so they share in another prize. Finally there is the gino-sho or technique prize which works with a point system: 3 points if you're the only win to make the correct pick 2 points if you're one of two to make the correct pick 1 point if you're one of three to make the correct pick And the winner is… no one. This was mostly an all-or-nothing basho, with gino-sho points awarded only on Day 6 when Asashosakari and Jejima were the only ones to pick Kotoshogiku. They each picked up two points, but a minimum of 3 points is required for the prize. So for the first time ever a sansho prize is not awarded. In summary: Shukun-sho – Jejima, Asashosakari, Yaochoyama Kanto-sho – Jejima, Asashosakari Gino-sho – not awarded Congratulations to the winners
Yaochoyama Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 How could I miss the days 1 and 2 entries? I will start caning myself now! Looks like you finally found a motivational technique that works for you. (Laughing...) But seriously, congratulations on your come from behind yusho!

Jejima Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 ****With the forum change, I cannot find (and I have spent the last 15 minutes looking for it), the thread where I keep the records and banzukes for all the bashos. Please can someone more knowledgeable find it for me!***** Very, very late congratulations to Asashosakari for meeting the guidelines to promotion to Yokozuna.
