The SUPER BANZUKE celebrates its Second Jubilee with the release of the 2004 Natsu Basho Edition! Later than ever before due to not one, but TWO games' extremely late banzuke release, the World Ranking for the May Basho of 2004 is now FINALLY online!

Yet another shift at the very top, with Flohru regaining the Yokozuna East spot from Gaijingai, who remains Yokozuna as well. Doitsuyama, for the third time in a row, is in the Yokozuna West spot. This marks the first time we have had three Yokozuna on the SUPER BANZUKE!

Swedes Yubiquitoyama and Maguroyama keep their Ozeki ranks, with Canadian veteran Rannohana joining them there, replacing Australia's Ekigozan, who falls to Sekiwake. Igiski remains Sekiwake, and Zenjimoto keeps his Komusubi slot. Only newcomer to Sanyaku this time is returnee Takanorappa, who replaces Sanyaku regular Kintamayama.

With a stellar Haru Basho, Finn Hakajusakari catapults himself to mid-Maegashira all the way from Juryo. He is joined by promotees from Juryo, Pastanoyama, Metzinowaka and Kaenkamiko. Norizo becomes the first Japanese player to break into Makuuchi. He made the jump all the way from Makushita, as did Hatsu 2004 Green Mawashi Champion Frinkanohana.

The Natsu 2004 SUPER BANZUKE is also historical as it welcomes three new games into the ranking: Haru 2004 debut games Salarycap Sumo and Sekitori-Quadrumvirate both exceeded the participation criteria, and after just one running are included in the SUPER BANZUKE (half points this time, full points next banzuke). Also, the venerable Japanese game Norizo Cup has fulfilled the requirements for inclusion, and becomes the second Japanese game after Papyer Oyakata to join.

GTB doesn't have a banzuke either. Ranking system is also done by Andoreasu.

Here is the GTB ranking formula:

R = P1 + 0.9*P2 + 0.8*P3 + 0.7*P4 + 0.6*P5 + 0.5*P6

R: ranking points

P1: relative points achieved in the last basho

P2: relative points achieved in the 2nd-last basho

P3: relative points achieved in the 3rd-last basho

P4: relative points achieved in the 4th-last basho

P5: relative points achieved in the 5th-last basho

P6: relative points achieved in the 6th-last basho

relative points = player's total points devided by the average points (of all players).

For CG the formula is nearly the same.
