down again?? I can't get into any of the games... tonight I can't wait till 3:15am unfortunately since I gotta get up at 5am!! Bummer... I will miss a day at the games!! :-(

ps at least I am able to get into sumo forum for the last two days since it was never down except for me.. LOL

Yay!! I just checked again before shutting down and things are coming up again!! :-(

I do not host Sumo Game.

The sumogames servers were only offline for about 5 minutes while our host changed a switch.

For some reason it seems that the server for the database and SumoReference and the .NET games has decided to disappear. The older server is still running. It's morning in Molalla so hopefully I'll get a reaction from Jack soon. Just about bed time here.

I forgot it was Thanksgiving in the US yesterday. Our host appears to be offline. Not even getting an online from his Droid. It's entirely possible they have gone to visit relatives for the weekend in which case we're hosed. The older server is running, so it's not power. Really strange that the newer one should go down alone.

The old server is running but since the database with all the game data is on the new server, Bench etc are all returning errors when they need to get data from the SQL Server. benchsumo, chaingang, rotosumo, isp and sekitoto.sumogames.com all run off the old server and are returning login pages but you can't get past there.

Is there an other source except for Sumo Database (Reference) where we can see head-to-head results ?

And has the server been down all day long (or at least most of it) ? Or just occasionally ?

Only just now I came to realize that it also isn't possible to enter Seki-Quad nor Odd Sumo either.

We're back.

Ouch, only minutes too late, as I especially stayed up until 6 am here in Belgium to await the deadline of several sumo games. If only it would have been an hour earlier, then I would for sure have scored a point in Seki-Quad. Several of the ones I had left were interesting to pick yesterday, but not today. Like for instance Toyonoshima, Takarafuji & Takayasu. So it's not that I now can make good use of them for the remainder of this basho (probably).

Well, there still is day 15 and Toyonoshima will have an opponent at M4 or lower. Takarafuji and Takayasu meet today so it really can't be all that bad, no? If you ask me there even is a clear favorite here.

Before people panic in a few days, the older server for Bench, etc. failed to restart after a post-basho power failure. I was surprised by the ending of the GTB so checked the dates and realized that I'd thought we'd had a week more. Our host has a spare less powerful but more than adequate machine he'll put the right OS on this week then I can do what I need to do to configure IIS to serve the games. It won't take long but I'll be visiting our son and his family for Christmas (first time we've been in Canada for Christmas in 10 years) and it will depend on when I can sneak in a remote session. I also need to relocate the tweaks I need to do. I've got them in a stack of paper on my desk at home, but that doesn't help here.

Thankfully the new drug I started last week has kicked in nicely and I'm feeling much better. If I hadn't been able to get it, you'd be getting a very different message.

Jack got Windows 2003 set up on the new server today. I'll configure it for web stuff tomorrow, so we should be up and running with the 5 older games by end of day (in Canada) tomorrow.
