You guys are looking like a proper 60's band ... wrinkles and all ... Need to live a bit harder to catch up to Keith though ;) But you do sound good :D

What type of show was it? The unglitziness of the audience makes me think of "The Morning Show with Zvi Hefner", or some such thing.

Then again, the folks that were listening had some jury-like demeanors. Something akin to "Israel's Got Talent?"

No. They took 12 ex-star singers with virtually dead careers and put them in a house ala Big Brother. At first, they judged each other's singing, kicking one of them off every week, which of course caused a sensation leading to high ratings on this cable channel. The jury here are some top Israeli people from the music industry (arrangers, song writers, the famous one is Kobi Oshrat, the guy who wrote "Halleluja" that won the Eurovision song contest in 1979) who were brought in to judge when the last 7 contenders were left. People at home get to vote of course. They brought us in as guest musicians during "English Night" when the contenders had to sing in English. We played as the votes were being counted, so good publicity there.

I've worked in the past with nearly all of them, contenders and jury alike.

Daily show, live from 10:00 Am to 01:00 am. Finals on Sunday.

Excellent Moti excellent.... ;-)

I'm so (censored) jealous,I wish I could sing and play like that.....

In fact I just wish I could sing and/or play...

I do write songs though,I have even recorded one with someone else on vocals and guitar..

Live feed, in case anyone is interested..

I've had it up in the background for the last few hours and looked in occasionally...those studio musicians are getting quite the workout.

Yes, they rehearse all day with the singers (the five that are left) and then there's an evening show, usually around 19:00 our time.

Just curious, did you guys play two songs in your appearance? I noticed the site posted the same clip under two song titles.

We were supposed to do two songs, but did three in the end. The show chose to upload that one, which was the first one.

Link, please!

Sorry I think you misunderstand,I have recorded it on tape.....

It hasn't got to computer yet but hopefully in the future....

I am still hoping to do another recording because I dont think ts ready yet but my guitarist/singer has been elusive of late..

I think listening to my horrible voice,to learn the song may have got to him. (Applauding...)

What head are you playing that bass through? Great sound, even for a flash video. Am amazed at just how accurate the group's sound is, pretty faithful to the original recordings.

I just plugged into the show's bass player's amp-I don't even know what it was-probably a Gaylan-Kruger. We hardly had any time for a soundcheck, maybe 10 minutes, then went live. Didn't even touch the dials. The secret is new strings (La Bella) and my awesome lightweight Jazzbass made in Japan. Of all my guitars-definitely the most versatile and reliable.

Found the full broadcast in their VOD section last night. Sadly the sound mix is terrible on that episode upload (checked some others, they were fine)...

Hattori Hanzō?

I don't know what that is, but mine is a Fender..

Edit: OK, looked around, now I know, but I didn't get the connection.

Brute force + Google Translate will get a limited soul like me quite far these days. (Laughing...)

(It's episode 30, if anyone's interested. The Sixties show starts around 1h:25.)

Well, whatever you used, I really enjoyed the sound you were getting. Good stuff!!!!

And you got lucky... A close friend of mine had to do the same thing, as using a standard P-Bass, and never checked the setting, which was for a Rickenbacher 4001 - he ended up sounding like Dumbo on beans.

Rickenbackers are the most un-versatile basses ever made. Unless you "hack" them, they are "dull" sounding. Off the rack, I grade them as the worst bass guitars ever made. You have to really work hard to make them sound even remotely OK.

Exactly. That's where cosmetic surgery is needed at the head/amp/effects level.

Unless your last name is Squire and you once played for YES. And even then........
