Sashohitowa Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) Hi there, This is a status-checkpoint of the Stable development game after the Nagoya 2011 banzuke release and a thread for squad-changes request of the participants. You are also welcome to jojn the long-term fun, if you'd like. HERE is the latest status file. This time in our "transfer window" (from now until shonichi) there is a lot to do, as there is turmoil in almost every squad's linup - retirements and promotions. The biggest effect of course has the Juryo promotion of Aoiyama, opening an extra slot for 17 of us, but also Takarafuji with 6, Tenkaiho with 2 and Fujiazuma with 1 additional open slot are significant for the game. 5 intais (Hoshihikari, Raiko, Kaihazan, Kainofuji, Takada and the mysterious disappearance of the high-hope Mongolian Kengo) are impacting 7 of our players (Asafan, Kotoviki, Liclic, Takanorappa, Asashosakari, Neko and Sashohitowa), opening a total of 10 free slots. The rush with the promotions gave, apart from th enew slots, also a boost into the scores of the participants. Also Tosayutaka, one of the popular picks, is now at career-high level of M1 thus in the 16 pointer bracket. As a result, the total points increased to 2203 from 1932, which is a 14% increase. Not bad for a single basho. For a first time player crosses the 100 point line -- and it's not even one, but two! One of them is, well, Sashohitowa, at 109, +17 pts basho-to-basho with a tail wind from everywhere (Aoiyama and Takarafuji promotions, Tosayutaka, Gagamaru and Kaisei's raises), but also Flohru is at 102 with nice +11 btb (Aoiyama +4, Tosayutaka + 2 and a bunch of one-pointers). Oshirokita is at the third spot with 97 (+8 btb, as his Shotenro brings a negative -2 points with his 4-11 basho). Crall is closing the gap with 12 additional points (Aoiyama, Takarafuji and Tosayutaka) and is now at 96. Yamaneko (89 pts, +15 btb) takes over Gusoyama (84 pts, +7 btb) for the fifth place at the current checkpoint. There are (only) three unfortunate players that in that scoring-fiesta somehow managed to record a negative change since Natsu: Asafan (-5pts btb) is hit by two retirements (Hoshihikari and Raiko) with noone to compensate. And the other two are the squads at the end of the rank list -- Takanorappa (-4pts) and Liclic (-3 pts) -- who don't contain any up-to-date rikishi to bring points in. So, in environment where everybody gains points, the rank movement is quite limited. Kudos to our highest climber: Kintamayama, back in Top 10 with +6 places due to nice +16 points since May from his spotless team (no demotions to a lower bracket from any of his rikishi). Shimodahito, on the other side, was in the dense area in the middle of the table (#14), but managed to accumulate only +1 point, and this cost him 7 places slump to 21st. Better luck next basho! Open slots (earned now plus open from previous bashos): Azumashida (Aoiyama) Kotoviki (old) Randomitsuki (Aoiyama) Sashohitowa (3) (1 old, Aoiyama, Takarafuji) Gusoyama (old) Profomisakari (Aoiyama) Ganzohnesushi (Aoiyama) Yamaneko (2) (Aoiyama and Takarafuji) Bunijiman (3) (2 old and Aoiyama) Kintamayama (Aoiyama) Bogdanyama (4) (3 old and Tenkaiho) Fuseigou (old) Fatakiyama (4) (3 old and Takarafuji) Flohru (Aoiyama) Kasamatsuri (2) (old and Tenkaiho) crall (3) (1 old, Aoiyama and Takarafuji) Asashosakari (Aoiyama) Oshirokita (Aoiyama) Torafuji (Aoiyama) Vikanohara (Aoiyama) Takanorappa (2) (both old) Holleshoryu (2) (1 old and Fujiazuma) Doitsuyama (Aoiyama) Itachi (5) (4 old and Takarafuji) Kameumi (Aoiyama) Achiyama (2) (Aoiyama and Takarafuji) Players owning intaied rikishi (which they can replase for HJk if they want): Asafan - 2 - (Hoshihikari and Raiko) Shimodahito (Sakurai) Kotoviki - 2 - (kainofuji and Kaihazan) Sashohitowa (Kengo) liclic - 5 - (Ozakiumi, Teraonami and Hanaoka, Kaihazan and Takada) Bogdanyama - 2 -(Kunigami and Tatsuhibiki) Fuseigou (Chiyoryusei) Fatakiyama (Yamada, but not the Jk21 one) Kasamatsuri (Tatsuhibiki) Neko (Kaihazan) Asashosakari (Kengo) Takanorappa - 5 slots (Ozakiumi, Sanada, Kotonakai, Kameiyama, Hoshihikari) Itachi (Nakanoumi) Kameumi (Sokokurai) Players "owning" a banzuke-gai rikishi: none Here is a copy/paste of Azumashida's last post with the rules and FAQs, only the links with the lists are updated: A reminder of the rules for those who would start now and those who don't remember everything: Stable Development Game: The Rules Form a virtual heya by selecting on the current banzuke: 1 rikishi whose highest career rank is in juryo (we'll call any such rikishi HRJ) 2 rikishi whose highest career rank is in makushita (HRms) 3 rikishi whose highest career rank is in sandanme (HRsd) 4 rikishi whose highest career rank is in jonidan (HRjd) 2 rikishi whose highest career rank is in jonokuchi (HRjk) (Send your picks to me using the "send e-mail" option from SumoForum) FAQ1: Each player can select the rikishi they want from each category, there is no system in the game to prevent players from picking the same rikishi. FAQ2: If for some reason you would rather want to keep some of your slots open, it is possible, but be aware that in any basho after Hatsu 2009, each individual open slot will only give you the possibility to recruit one HRjk. In other words, keeping slots open will not give you any advantage. FAQ3: Any player can start or restart the game at any given time over the total period of five years. Then, for each basho: if you do nothing between the release of the new banzuke and the beginning of the corresponding basho (edit: deadline is shonichi 8am JST), you keep these same rikishi in your heya. However, when any new banzuke is released, and at any point between the release of the banzuke and the beginning of the basho (edit: i.e. shonichi 8am JST), there are the following exchange possibilities: - you can replace any one rikishi (or open slot) in your selection by one HRjk of your choice - you can replace any two rikishi (and/or open slots) in your selection by one HRjd of your choice - you can replace any three rikishi (and/or open slots) in your selection by one HRsd of your choice - you can replace any six rikishi (and/or open slots) in your selection by one rikishi - of your choice, if there is any choice - who is makushita tsukedashi for this basho (mstd) - you can combine the above operations as you like (e.g. replace 3 of your rikishi with 1 HRjk and 1 HRjd, or replace 5 of your rikishi with 1 HRjd and 1 HRsd, etc.) FAQ4: These exchange possibilities are also valid for Hatsu 2009, i.e. you can change your initial selections before the beginning of the basho – you can for instance send me your initial selection of 12 rikishi and the changes you make in the same e-mail. FAQ5: If one of your rikishi goes intai, you can also replace him according to the scheme above. Tsukebito rule: for each of your rikishi promoted to juryo and/or from juryo to makuuchi for the first time, you get to recruit one HRjk. For example, if one of your HRms becomes sekitori after Hatsu 2009, you can recruit one HRjk when the Haru 2009 banzuke is published - you can also use this new HRjk in an exchange as described above. If this same former HRms is then promoted to makuuchi after, say, Natsu 2009, you can again recruit one HRjk. As for the HRJ selected from the beginning, it is only if he is promoted to makuuchi that he will allow you to recruit a HRjk. The points: Any jonidan deshi: 1 Sandanme 100-51: 2 Sandanme 50-1: 3 Makushita 60-31: 4 Makushita 30-16: 5 Makushita 15-1: 6 Juryo 14-8: 9 Juryo 7-1: 10 Maegashira 18-13: 13 Maegashira 12-9: 14 Maegashira 8-5: 15 Maegashira 4-1: 16 Komusubi: 18 Sekiwake: 20 Ozeki: 30 Yokozuna: 50 The rankings will be based on total points gathered by all the rikishi of your heya through their positions on a given banzuke – i.e. they will not be based on highest ranks. They could in principle be established after each basho, but it makes more sense to think of them in the longer term. Each new Hatsu banzuke will be the occasion to discuss the rankings at some length. The duration of one full game will be 5 years, i.e. for this first game the Hatsu 2014 banzuke, released in December 2013, will determine the final standings and crown the winner... except if two or more players have the same points total by that time, in which case the following basho will be used as playoff between the players who are tied, until one outscores the other(s). Now, here are the lists for all rikishi groups (links to Doitsuyama's Sumo Reference).
