kuroimori Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 We're entering the world of pain... Can't decide at all between Kotooshu and Aminishiki... Well, what the heck, I'll throw in Aminishiki on Day 7
Yaochoyama Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Time to pull out the mimic Jakusotsu strategy: Day 7 - Yoshikaze
Andonishiki Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Day 7 - Aminishiki it's like a tunnel with no light this time.... SETSUDEN - aaaaaarrrghhhh
Jakusotsu Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Have I mentioned that I hate having three Sekiwake? Day 8 - Harumafuji
Asashosakari Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 They really are aggressive about getting in the S/K bouts early this basho... Time for stubbornness, Day 8 Harumafuji again.
Doitsuyama Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 We're entering the world of pain... Getting desperate here... it's like a tunnel with no light this time.... I hate having three Sekiwake Wow, this really must be the dream game for masochists. I prefer to be on the other side, also known as Guessbusters. :-P
Asashosakari Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Wow, this really must be the dream game for masochists. I prefer to be on the other side, also known as Guessbusters. :-P Only this time... A few months ago there was a suggestion to change up the game because it had become too easy. (Applauding...)
Chisaiyama Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 Well most of us agree it's going to be an Ozeki but which one, gee only 3 to choose from: Day 8: Kotooshu
Kotoviki Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 kotooshu again... if I have to make the torikumi myself tomorrow I will! if you hear about the woman who ran to the gyoji heya threatening them while making the torikumi you'll know how it was!!! On my way over to the gym soon!!
Anjoboshi Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 I'll take Kotooshu again like yesterday. And the day before. And the day before the day before yesterday.
Andonishiki Posted July 15, 2011 Posted July 15, 2011 in italian eight is "otto' sounds a bit like ooshuu ? no ? i think Kisel should get a weaker guy next (ami or yoshi) to get a chance to make up some ground and gain confidence before the huuuuge hakuho fight, but then again.... no ! Day 8: Kotooshuu @ doitsuyama - you really made me laugh - yes, this absolutely IS a game for masochists more or less, the bondage area of sumogames (In jonokuchi...)
Yaochoyama Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Wait a minute - the Kotooshu bandwagon still hasn't left town? By golly, I reckon I just might get on: Day 8 - Kotooshu
Yaochoyama Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Updating the standings thru Day 7: The Day 7 picks: Kotooshu - 4 Aminishiki - 3 Yoshikaze - 2 Baruto - 1 Harumafuji - 1 Kakuryu - 1 Okinoumi - 1 Oshirokita was the only one with the correct pick of Kakuryu. Yaochoyama (Y1E 3-3-1) Y1 Profomisakari (O1W 2-5) O1 Asashosakari (S1E 1-6) Jakusotsu (S1W 1-6) S1 Gernobono (S2E 1-3-3) Oshirokita (M3E 2-5) K1 Chisaiyama (M4W 3-4) Kofuji (M1E Kosho) M1 Holleshoryu (M1W Kosho) Andonishiki (M2E 1-6) M2 Kotoviki (M2W 1-4-2) Jejima (K1E 1-6) M3 XiaoTan (M3W 2-5) Hidariashiyama (M4E 2-5) M4 Kuroimori (K1W 3-4) Maguroyama (M5E Kosho) M5 Shimodahito (M5W Kosho) Kameumi (M6E Kosho) M6 Anjoboshi (M6W 1-5-1) Day 1: ME3 Wakakkoyu, Day 2: ME2 Kyokutenho, Day 3: KE Goeido, Day 4: KW Tochinoshin, Day 5: SE Kotoshogiku, Day 6: O2E Kaio, Day 7: SW2 Kakuryu Jejima Day 8 pick (if not otherwise heard from) - still Aminishiki
Yaochoyama Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Wow, this really must be the dream game for masochists. I prefer to be on the other side, also known as Guessbusters. (In jonokuchi...) Only this time... A few months ago there was a suggestion to change up the game because it had become too easy. (Laughing...) Errr, that would be me who made that suggestion. And I stand by what I said, though I think the argument was framed more in terms of being too predictable rather than too easy. Having 75% of the players loading up on a bandwagon day after day and everyone patting themselves on the back for getting 10 wins is not my idea of a fun, challenging game, but to each their own. I'm glad there are 3 sekiwakes this time around and that things suddenly aren't so easy and that on many days we're getting 5 or 6 or 7 different selections for aite. I think it's great that there are so many different opinions on possible aites. It would be one thing if we had to meet some pre-determined goal of victories. But hey, if you can get 4 wins when everyone else only gets 3, you're the champ just as much as someone winning a 5-way tie-breaker at 10-5.
Asashosakari Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 (edited) Errr, that would be me who made that suggestion. Sorry if my post came across a bit too flippant, wasn't the intention. And I stand by what I said, though I think the argument was framed more in terms of being too predictable rather than too easy. Having 75% of the players loading up on a bandwagon day after day and everyone patting themselves on the back for getting 10 wins is not my idea of a fun, challenging game Well, that's easy to solve, just make the selection process non-public and only the really obvious (and usually correct) bandwagons will still happen. I don't think that's in the cards though. Why the gratuitous "patting themselves on the back" putdown, BTW? That smacks a bit of "gee, now other players get to have good results, too, and I'll actually have to work for my yushos" arrogance. It's not like the KK line has exceeded 8-7 yet. Andonishiki Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 and another bandwaggon just crushed into the tunnel... (In jonokuchi...)(
