Well, many of us were expecting the NSK torikumi makers to throw a henka but stuck with Baruto. Five players correctly guessed the henka as M3W Tamawashi will be Kisenosato's Day 12 aite. Jakusotsu, Jejima, Gernobono and Yaochoyama get their records back to an even 6-6 while Asashosakari extends his lead to 9-3. Now the hositori shows Asashosakari in the lead by two over Kofuji followed by a large pack of 6@6-6.

Asashosakari, who will they give Kisenosato on unlucky Day 13?

[Edit: Forgot to mention that one player went with Harumafuji who was the rikishi I thought would be the henka.]

[Edit: Apologies to our yokozuna, Yaochoyama for messing up his score (corrected below) ... he moves into a 2nd place tie with Kofuji]

Yaochoyama (Y1E 7-5) Y1
				   O1 Profomisakari (O1W 6-6)
Jakusotsu (S1E 6-6)	S1 Gernobono (S1W 6-6)
Kotoviki (S2E 4-8) S2 Hidariashiyama (S2W 2-10)
Asashosakari (S3E 9-3) S3
Oshirokita (K1E 4-8) K1 XiaoTan (K1W 3-9)

Kuroimori (M1E 5-7)	M1 Chisaiyama (M1W 3-9)
Jejima (M2E 6-6) M2 Holleshoryu (M2W 5-7)
Maguroyama (M3E 3-9) M3 Andonishiki (M3W 5-7)
Kofuji (M4E 7-4-1) M4 Kameumi (M4W 2-6-4)
Shimodahito (M5E 3-9) M5

Mae-zumo
Anjoboshi (mz 6-6)

Kisenosato's aites: 1. M2W Yoshikaze, 2. M3E Aran 3. K1E Tochiozan 4. K1W Kakuryu 5. M1E Aminishiki 6. S1W Kotoshogiku 7. M1E Toyonoshima 8. O2E Kotooshu 9. M2E Tochnoshin 10. O1E Kaio 11. Y Hakuho 12. M3W Tamawashi

Kameumi's defaults:

Day 13 - Harumafuji

Day 15 - Wakanosato

I will stick with Baruto again for day 13 as well.

But really shouldn't I have gone kyujo sooner... ? why no oyakata pulled me out of the basho before my make-koshi!

Well, I've been doing a Jakusotsu-like job of burning brain-cells, searching tea leaves, tossing chicken bones and a number of other incantations to try to figure out how the NSK torikumi makers are going to screw us this time. Do I go with Homasho or Harumafuji and hope that I pick up a spot on the leader, or do I go with the flow as it appears unanimous that it must be Baruto? It really SHOULD have been Baruto on day 9 as, IMHO, there was no need for Tochinoshin, with his record, to face Kisenosato. Seemed to be ample precedent for skipping him, then they could have had a worthier opponent now like Goeido. Actually Homasho's torikumi is one that looks like it's been messed up the most as he's seen the Yokozuna and the three top Ozeki but missed one Ozeki, both Sekiwake, both Komusubi and M1E and can only face a maximum of three of those six.

Well, after all that palaver I'll end up following the herd since I can't really see any way around it:

Day 13 - Baruto

(Viki, if this doesn't come in, you have my permission to wrap the torikumi makers up in your flags and dump them in the bay)

Hakuho will go for revenge for his sole Kyushu loss on Day 11...

Well, Thank God this game just asks us to guess Kisenosato's Aite and not the outcome...

This basho has been jinxed anyway, almost everything I try to predict goes wrong.

And I didn't realized the torikumi makers are that old that they seem to have a collective hearing impediment. So, I guess I have to shout:

BAAARUUUTOOOO FOR DAY 13!

I don't see the issue, to be honest. The matchup matrix always disintegrates at the bottom of the top 16, just check out Tokusegawa in Aki 2010, a basho which was in many ways similar to the current one.

Didn't look like a henka to me. I must need new glasses.

Day 13 - Baruto

The Baruto Freight Train slowly chugs into the station after interminable delays bringing a shiroboshi to all but two players who tried for Harumafuji. Yaochoyama (sumimasen for yesterday's scoring error) and Kofuji make their kachi-koshi while our leader, Asashosakari, moves to the Ozeki level performance of 10 wins.

Suspecting that the next two days will bookend the first two unless we really get tricked again.
