Anjoboshi Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I'm not sure, but i think i missed the deadline. If not, then ill take Toyonoshima
Yaochoyama Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Day 6 - Toyonoshima My paranoia pick. There were three I seriously considered, the other two not having been picked by anyone yet (with one or two folks still to hear from). After having all my notions turn out to be misguided last basho, my gut seems to lean towards the mundane bandwagon alternative at the moment.
Kofuji Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) The big train today was Toyonoshima. Tochinoshin and Kotoshogiku each got three supporters while Harumafuji and Kaio both garnered a vote. But the important pick by the NSK torikumi makers was S1W Kotoshogiku. Profomisakari, Kofuji and Kuroimori matched the NSK. As none of yesterday's winners were on the podium today, Kofuji regains his uncontested lead and will make an early pick. Yaochoyama (Y1E 4-2) Y1 O1 Profomisakari (O1W 3-3) Jakusotsu (S1E 4-2) S1 Gernobono (S1W 3-3) Kotoviki (S2E 3-3) S2 Hidariashiyama (S2W 1-5) Asashosakari (S3E 4-2) S3 Oshirokita (K1E 3-3) K1 XiaoTan (K1W 2-4) Kuroimori (M1E 4-2) M1 Chisaiyama (M1W 2-4) Jejima (M2E 3-3) M2 Holleshoryu (M2W 3-3) Maguroyama (M3E 2-4) M3 Andonishiki (M3W 3-3) Kofuji (M4E 5-1) M4 Kameumi (M4W 0-4-2) Shimodahito (M5E 1-5) M5 Mae-zumo Anjoboshi (mz 3-3) Kisenosato's aites: 1. M2W Yoshikaze, 2. M3E Aran 3. K1E Tochiozan 4. K1W Kakuryu 5. M1E Aminishiki 6. S1W Kotoshogiku Kameumi's defaults: Day 7 - Toyonoshima Day 8 - Kotoshogiku Day 9 - Kaio Day 10 - Kotooshu Day 11 - Hakuho Day 12 - Baruto Day 13 - Harumafuji Day 14 - Kotooshu Day 15 - Wakanosato [Edit - forgot to add Adonishiki's loss on Toyonoshin] Edited January 14, 2011 by Kofuji
Kofuji Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Kisenosato could start to face Ozeki as early as today, but I'm going to go back to Day 6's consensus pick: Day 7 - Toyonoshima
Oshirokita Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 well since Kofuji is taking Toyonoshima, I will change horses to: Day 7 Tochinoshin
kuroimori Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Day 6 - Toyonoshin TRANSFORMERS!!! :-) Would make a nice rikishi though: Tochinoshin's frame and strength combined with Toyonoshima's technique... But back to aite-guessing. I say bring on the big O's already and start with O2w Kotooshu on Day 7 Edited January 13, 2011 by kuroimori
Asashosakari Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Crud, predicted the top four bouts correctly, but Kaio-Homasho threw me for a loop and messed up the rest of my guess. At the risk of falling into a rut... Day 7 Toyonoshima once more. At least the wildcard of the sekiwake-sekiwake matchup is out of play now. For those scoring at home, that match has recently taken place on Day 5, 13, 15 and now back down to Day 6 again... Edited January 13, 2011 by Asashosakari
Kotoviki Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Just like Toyonoshima I got the yusho and I'm sucking now! ;-) I'd like to stick with Toyonoshima but with his record I'm thinking more excitment for the weekend is planned and Kise will fight some ozeki especially since they are all 4-1 as well. I'm going with a total wild card pick of Baruto for Day 7! I have nothing to lose at 3-3 LOL
Maguroyama Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 This game puzzles me out... Day 7 - Kaio or whomever
Anjoboshi Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I really don't know what I'm doing: Toyonoshima (Day 7)
Kofuji Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 (edited) Finally M1E Toyonoshima will face Kisenosato on day 7. While eight of us were on the Toyonoshima bandwagon, a lot deserted it in favour of the Ozeki with all four Ozeki garnering at least a vote. Kotooshu was the most popular. Will he be the consensus pick on day 8? Kofuji retains his uncontested lead and will make an early pick. Asashosakari and Andonishiki follows one win back. Congratulations to Kameumi for picking up his first win of the basho. There is still time for you to get your eight! Yaochoyama (Y1E 4-3) Y1 O1 Profomisakari (O1W 4-3) Jakusotsu (S1E 4-3) S1 Gernobono (S1W 3-4) Kotoviki (S2E 3-4) S2 Hidariashiyama (S2W 1-6) Asashosakari (S3E 5-2) S3 Oshirokita (K1E 3-4) K1 XiaoTan (K1W 2-5) Kuroimori (M1E 4-3) M1 Chisaiyama (M1W 2-5) Jejima (M2E 3-4) M2 Holleshoryu (M2W 4-3) Maguroyama (M3E 2-5) M3 Andonishiki (M3W 4-3) Kofuji (M4E 6-1) M4 Kameumi (M4W 1-4-2) Shimodahito (M5E 2-5) M5 Mae-zumo Anjoboshi (mz 4-3) Kisenosato's aites: 1. M2W Yoshikaze, 2. M3E Aran 3. K1E Tochiozan 4. K1W Kakuryu 5. M1E Aminishiki 6. S1W Kotoshogiku 7. M1E Toyonoshima Kameumi's defaults: Day 8 - Kotoshogiku Reminder to Kameumi ... you need to pick today as we don't have a default for you. Day 9 - Kaio Day 10 - Kotooshu Day 11 - Hakuho Day 12 - Baruto Day 13 - Harumafuji Day 14 - Kotooshu Day 15 - Wakanosato [Edit: correct carry over of Adonishiki's score from day 6's mistake] [Edit: correct the mistake I made in the last edit note] Edited January 14, 2011 by Kofuji
Kofuji Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Big dilemma today. Tochinoshin or do we start the ozeki rota and if so, with whom. With 'noshin having no wins and Kisenosato matching the Ozekis records, starting in on the ozeki is a good possiblility. It may be a bit early to drop down deep to give Wakanosato a tougher opponent. I'm going to roll my four-sided dice and go for: Day 8 - Baruto
