Asashosakari Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Somebody had to ask. :-) It's not as glamorous as breaking Futabayama's record would have been, but Tachiyama's achievement of 99 wins in 100 decisions (albeit in a time when draws were still possible) may be a reasonable target if Hakuho isn't too flustered now. How far do you think he'll be going?
ryafuji Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Loses today as well. Against an opponent who's only beaten him once in 24 attempts? Unlikely.
Kintamayama Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Loses today as well. Against an opponent who's only beaten him once in 24 attempts? Unlikely. And you wrote that after the fact..
Asashosakari Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 FWIW, I voted 7-12, mostly because I still feel one of the ozeki will get the upset this basho. Or perhaps one of the sekiwake...

sekihiryu Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 7-12 Baruto will upset his applecart again this basho.
Kotomikey Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hakuho is to far ahead of the competition. He will win 31 - 40 before his next loss.
Kuroyama Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 7-12 Baruto will upset his applecart again this basho. I'm thinking the same thing. I like his chances this time around, if only because someone other than Hakuho has an opportunity for a change.
Asashosakari Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 Since this is a poll that's particularly susceptible to late voting, here's where things stand after 6 wins for Hakuho: 0: 2 1-3: 2 4-6: 1 7-12: 4 13-20: 2 21-30: 1 31-40: 2 41-50: 0 51+: 2
Asashosakari Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 Would the lucky winner please claim his prize? Just one voter correctly predicted that Hakuho would be upset again somewhere between his 20th and 30th bout, with about two-thirds actually expecting it even earlier.
