Profomisakari Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) We have 50 registered participants - again a new record. But because Kameumi seems to have forgotten to make his pics at the first two days, we have only 49 in the players ranking. Day 1 started with a famous 51 point result of Konosato from Switzerland. Today he had only 1 correct, but as ever leads with now 61 before Gernobono from Austria with 57 and Norizo from Japan with 54 points. Today could be possible 58 points, but only if the underdogs Takekaze, Hakuba and Wakanosato did win. But all three didn't win, so is the daily winner Kotoviki before Ninja Killer, both with 29 point. This means for Viki a famous 4th place in the total ranking. Kameumi Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Damn, even with a friendly reminder I forgot, again! >_>

Because all those boys didn't let me down!!! :-)
Profomisakari Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) The bouts with the most points saw the favorites as winner. The best daily result had Sekhiryu with 35 before Ninja Killer, Hana-ichi and Kintamayama. In the total ranking we have a new leader with Norizo (77 points) before yesterday's leader Konosato and Ilovetochinoshin (Kotoviki) with each 72 points. But there are very small differences until place 11 (Heikotoriki 60) Kameumi dosn't more sleep, but now started with 0 points. Come on and fight!! Profomisakari Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 Todays daily winner with excellent 47 point (more weren't possible) is Pedinishiki before Andonishiki (42) and Gernobono (36). The total ranking leads now Gernobono (102) before Oskanohan (94), Norizo (92) and Ilovetochinoshin (Kotoviki, 90). Kameumi seems to have lost his interest and again not voted. So he stays as ever at 0 points. Profomisakari

Profomisakari It is not interest that lets me down, it is a very very confused mind that told me I already put my entry in. Ok, so 0 points on day 5... Time for the biggest comeback in a long time!
Profomisakari Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Today have 5 favorites destroyed 73 points. So we have microscopical small daily results. The best was Ozeki Mariohana with only 22 before Pitinosato and Sashohitowa with each 20. So could Gernobono (110) hold the top position before Kotoviki (107) and Norizo (105). Until place 10 are less than 20 points to catch up. And Kameumi started his great comeback! Profomisakari Edited November 18, 2010 by Profomisakari
Kameumi Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 One down, 49'th out of 50.... 48 more to go!
Profomisakari Posted November 19, 2010 Author Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) Again we have new daily winners. A triple of players has each 33 points: Ruziklao, GanzohneSushi and Packamawashi. But especially we have a new leader in the total ranking. Oskanohana from Spain should be now arrived in the game and leads with 131 before Oshirokita from the white noth of Canada, Norizo of Japan and yesterdays leader Gernobono. Now we can say: The game is international! After 6 days makes sense a look at the sansho standings: Konosato with his first day result of 55 leads the Shukun Sho ranking, Gernobono (110) the Kanto Sho racing and Leonishiki (as most bashos he played) the Gino Sho ranking. Profomisakari Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) After Nakabi as ever leads Oskanohana, now before Gernobono, Oshirokita, Norizo and Sahohitowa. The best results today were only 21 (Mariohana, Norizo) and 20 (Mysko). For more informations look here! Edited November 21, 2010 by Profomisakari
Profomisakari Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 Homasho (23+1), Miyabiyama (15+1) and Asasekiryu (10+1) made Kintamayamas todays daily win result. These 51 points let him too lead with the better second best daily result in the Shukun Sho ranking before Konosato. Excellent daily results today had too Kuroimori (49), Doitsuyama and Gernobono (both each 44). With these 44 points comes Gernobono back to the leading position with now 210 points. Him follows Norizo (200) before Kintamayama and the last days leader Oskanohana (each 180 points). The leader in the Kanto Sho ranking is Pedinishiki (121), the Gino Sho leader now Gaijingai (0-1-5-3). Profomisakari
Kotoviki Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 not that it matters anymore as my boys start to let me down every day... anyway my question is after submitting my picks today is the first time I ever got the message "failed to send email" and I wonder if my picks are indeed registered or if they aren't since it is an option to receive the email. If there is a problem, my picks today are: Shimotori, Tamawashi and Sokokurai. Thanks! Viki
Asashosakari Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 anyway my question is after submitting my picks today is the first time I ever got the message "failed to send email" and I wonder if my picks are indeed registered or if they aren't since it is an option to receive the email. I don't play this game, but if the automation works like just about every Kofuji creation you just need to log into your account again - if your picks show up as selected, they're in the system, if the entry mask is back to default you'll have to resubmit.

I think I've got it now so the entry is written to the database before it attempts to send a confirmation email, so failure to send it shouldn't cause an entry loss. Profomisakari Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 Hi, friends of the Maegashira game! It's time to publish some things about this game! I was the last five days absent and couldn't follow the progress of the game. As I last time saw the provisional result, we had Gernobono in the leading position. But the days 12 and 13 were bad days for him. With 7 and 0 points him passed Andonishiki, Hana-ichi, Norizo and Oskanohana after day 13. Later he came some steps back, but Andonishikis run he could no more stop and Norizo after Senshuraku too stood before him. The points and other details you can find as ever here. The great winner is Andonishiki with a souvereign lead before Norizo, Gernobono, Oskanohana and Hana-ichi ( the best woman ). Characteristic for his performance is his sensational result of 168 points for the days 11-15, what him saved the Kanto Sho. Andonishiki was too one of 6 (!) daily winners of Senshuraku with each 40 points (among them too with Doitsuryu the youngster of the game). The most important Sansho, the Shukun Sho goes with 51 points to Kana-san the father of the game. Here we have likewise 4 players with the same result, but kana-san has the best tiebreaker (his second best daily result of 38 points). The Gino Sho goes to Holleshoryu, the father of our younster. Congratulations to the great winner Andonishikis and the both sansho winners! Thanks to all players for the great game! And especially thank to Kofuji to have made possible this game as automated game. I think it's great solved. Let us play the game with again many participants in Aki Basho 2011. Profomisakari
Profomisakari Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) As you know, we have decided, make a new kind of players ranking with so called "Performance values" (PV). The placement will be calculated by the basho results based on calculation rules of "exponential smothing". For all particitated players the PV is calculated as 0,6 * old PV + 0,4 * new result. Newbies get 0,6 * new result. Kosho players get her old PV (and th old place!!). We allow only one Kosho in a row. A second time not to participate means 0 points. Two such 0 points results in a row means to fall out of the Players ranking. As concession to the classical ranking we call the best placed player "Yokozuna", the following both "Ozeki" and so on, but we use not the ozumo rules for promotion and demotion, but our PV calculations. Later Kofujis automatic will realize this calculation. At first let me publish the results of my Excel! Pl Rank Shikona. . . . . Country. P.V. Rank Pts To . Profomisakari Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 Hi Moti! Please look at my Edit! Let the both not know, what I wrote. Perhaps they are it and don't know about it. But can it be very wrong? Perhaps it is the human nature ... Now you can see, how bad my English is. I hope to become better, if you keep a sharp eye on my postings. Profo
Kofuji Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 The new banzuke is now posted on the web site and it's been changed to display the Performance Value for each basho as well as the cumulative Performance Value that decides the rankings. It should show up automatically now after the Day 15 results are calculated.

Fujisan Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I didn't do much better this time than last when I only played half the basho... I have no clue how to work this game..... (I am not worthy...) Anyone want to swap some pointers, for pointers on Banzai?
Profomisakari Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 The new banzuke is now posted on the web site and it's been changed to display the Performance Value for each basho as well as the cumulative Performance Value that decides the rankings. It should show up automatically now after the Day 15 results are calculated. That's great! Thanks to Kofuji! why is mysko before yassier? 78,06 is Yassiers PV from last basho and better as Mysko's new PV. But we decided to save for a kosho player the rank for the next banzuke. The old PV we only need for the calculation after the next basho. BTW this was more difficult to realize for Bob as the other way. But we wouldn't have to become Yokozuna with a lucky kosho!! So we too won't an Ozeki promotion with a lucky kosho for Yassier. But of course he has now a very good start position for the next Yokozuna or Ozeki race. Profo
Asashosakari Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 This seems overly complicated to me... It's possible to move up or down in GTB while being kosho and I don't think anybody has ever complained about that. What would the new ranking look like if Mysko's score had decreased to 75.5 - OW Mariohana? (I am not worthy...)
Profomisakari Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 This seems overly complicated to me...Yes! I said it: It's some more difficult to realize as the other way. But the team, who decided the new ranking, decided so - and Bob has it realized (Thank you!!) It's possible to move up or down in GTB while being kosho and I don't think anybody has ever complained about that. I can't make out the kosho rules of GTB. But I think every game has his own rules - and the both guys (correct, Moti?), who made with me the new ranking rules, have me outvoted - so we now have this rule. What would the new ranking look like if Mysko's score had decreased to 75.5 - OW Mariohana? :-)Yes! ... and KE Mysko!Perhaps we didn't have this discussion, if we would not write the PV for the kosho player. But next basho we need a old PV as calculation base for the new PV - and so we need this value. Why not write it into the banzuke? Profo
