Doitsuyama Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 (edited) The Yokozuna continued is win streak this year to 30 with the yusho clincher against Ozeki Chiyotaikai. Kaio won against Musoyama and both 13-2 Ozeki can thank Wakanosato for the jun-yusho honors as he beat Asasekiryu to have three rikishi sharing jun-yusho at 13-2. Kotonowaka is next at 11-4 and Kyokutenho is the last Makuuchi in double digits with 10-5. Wakanosato and Kotomitsuki won to clinch kachi-koshi in the case of Wakanosato and probably remain Sanyaku in Kotomitsuki's case. I guess Kyokutenho will take the second Sekiwake slot with Miyabiyama as Komusubi and Asasekiryu at M1e. Wakanoyama, Chiyotenzan and Yotsukasa are sure demotions, Toyozakura is likely for a demotion as well. Futeno just saved himself with three wins on the last three days. Hakuho and Hayateumi both won to reach 12-3 in Juryo and forcing a playoff for the yusho which Hakuho won. My guess is that both will get promoted to Makuuchi along with Kobo and Takanowaka who both got a vital win on Senshuraku. Otsukasa missed it and will stay in Juryo. -- Doitsuyama Day 15 Juryo Ms4w Toyonoshima (5-2) uchigake J9w Juzan (3-12) J9e Takanotsuru (9-6) sokubiotoshi J10w Sumanofuji (8-7) J7w Tamarikido (7-8) hatakikomi J13e Daimanazuru (5-10) J8w Hakuho (12-3) kakenage J7e Gojoro (7-8) J6w Kasugao (10-5) kainahineri J14w Ichinotani (5-10) J14e Wakakosho (7-8) sukuinage J6e Kitazakura (8-7) J5e Takanowaka (10-5) yorikiri J13w Masutsuyoshi (3-12) J12e Ama (10-5) tottari J4w Kaido (8-7) J11w Dewanofuji (7-8) oshidashi J3w Roho (6-9) J2w Hayateumi (12-3) shitatenage J12w Bushuyama (9-6) J11e Tokitenku (8-7) uwatedashinage J1w Otsukasa (7-8) J10e Hamanishiki (7-8) fusen J1e Oikari (6-9) Makuuchi J3e Kobo (9-6) hatakikomi M17e Yotsukasa (6-9) J4e Wakatoba (8-7) yorikiri M16e Wakanoyama (2-13) J2e Tamakasuga (8-7) kotenage M15w Toyozakura (6-9) M14e Harunoyama (9-6) fusen M14w Ushiomaru (7-8) M15e Futeno (7-8) oshidashi M11e Asanowaka (5-10) M10e Kasuganishiki (5-10)yorikiri M16w Kaiho (9-6) M11w Takekaze (9-6) tsukiotoshi M9w Kokkai (8-7) M7e Tochisakae (7-8) sukuinage M13w Chiyotenzan (3-12) M13e Kotonowaka (11-4) oshidashi M6e Hokutoriki (9-6) M5e Tokitsuumi (8-7) oshidashi M12e Toki (8-7) M4e Aminishiki (3-12) oshidashi M7w Kinkaiyama (4-11) M3e Tochinonada (8-7) yorikiri M8w Takanonami (5-10) M2w Kyokutenho (10-5) yoritaoshi M9e Buyuzan (8-7) M10w Kotoryu (8-7) hatakikomi M2e Dejima (7-8) M3w Tamanoshima (6-9) oshidashi M1w Kyokushuzan (4-11) M8e Takamisakari (8-7) hikiotoshi M1e Miyabiyama (8-7) M4w Tosanoumi (5-10) hikiotoshi K1w Shimotori (6-9) K1e Kakizoe (6-9) yorikiri M6w Jumonji (4-11) S1w Kotomitsuki (7-8) yorikiri M5w Iwakiyama (7-8) S1e Wakanosato (8-7) shitatenage M12w Asasekiryu (13-2) O1w Kaio (13-2) yorikiri O2w Musoyama (9-6) Y1e Asashoryu (15-0) hikiotoshi O1e Chiyotaikai (13-2) Juryo yusho kettei-sen J8w Hakuho yorikiri J2w Hayateumi List of Yusho Makuuchi: Asashoryu (6th) Juryo: Hakuho Makushita: Kotooshu Sandanme: Minaminoshima Jonidan: Keno Jonokuchi: Onishi List of Sansho Shukun-sho: Asasekiryu (1st) Kanto-sho: Kotonowaka (4th) Gino-sho: Asasekiryu (1st) Edited March 28, 2004 by Doitsuyama

Doitsuyama Posted March 28, 2004 Author Posted March 28, 2004 Asashoryu has 6 yusho. Doesn't he? Sorry, a typo... coreccted now.

Asashosakari Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 All overtaking Tamakasuga with an 8-7 from J2? Well, look at who all passed by Otsukasa last basho...

(Sign of approval) Wakanosato E Seki Kyokutenho W Seki Koto E Komu Miyabiyama W Komu Asasekiryu M1 E Looks like it is gonna be a fair sanyaku promotions and demotions. (Sigh...)
Feginowaka Posted March 31, 2004 Posted March 31, 2004 Wakanosato E Seki Kyokutenho W SekiKoto E Komu Miyabiyama W Komu Asasekiryu M1 E I agree with your sanyaku (you are right: Koto should be east and Miyabi west), but I don't agree with the rank of Asasekiryu. M1e will be Tochinonada in any case. I'm not even sure if Asasekiryu will take the M1w spot. Hokutoriki seems to be a good option as well... :-P
