As good as Kise is doing this basho, Osh appears to be at least as determined to have a great basho so I believe tonights winner will be Osh thus sending Kise to 2 losses. Similarly as Kaio is also doing very well this basho I believe he will defeat Tokitenku and remain with one loss. If all that happens and if Baruto wins to remain with 2 losses then.....

Day 8 - No stalking Jakusotsu, no mimicing Jejima. And the early Kaio groundswell has been halted!! Today I'm joining my fellow late posters and giving my support to Baruto.

And, to start another post with "and", I do wonder if the NSK watches this game to make the Torikumi a bit less predictable - no real reason why HS needs to meet Ozeki's early on, and then you think they'd want an attractive match on Nakabi.

I might as well stick with Kaio for Day 89rather than switching to Aran and then getting upset about Kaio being selected.

Again I was angry ready to protest as the gyoji announced the matches for tomorrow!!!

So I'll stick with Kaio as well on Day 9! I mean he has to fight him eventually!

I dunno, looking at some comparable earlier schedules I was struck by how much more attractive the Day 7 match often was compared to the Day 8 match. Of course, I figured that would mean Kise would get the well-performing Tochiozan on Day 7 and instead they gave him a zensho Osh... Maybe they figure Sunday doesn't need any added attractions to boost attendance? I dunno.

Well, I'm back to being stubborn: Aran for Day 9.

Edit: BTW, can I get my 4th loss credited? (Laughing...)

But it is not that there aren't enough Ozeki to fill two days in the middle of the tournament. In the middle of the tournament this often feels like Guess who's not Kisenosato's Aite.

they won't listen to me either not for Kisenosato nor for the jonidan boys and I'm right here in Nagoya complaining every day... LOL

I'm 'heading for the hills' and will not have internet access for Day 10 so will make my pick now. Sorry for adding a bit of complexity here in this unusual basho:

Day 10 (if Kisenosato fights an ozeki on Day 9) - Aran

Day 10 (if Kisenosato does NOT fight an ozeki on Day 9) - Harumafuji

I was aware of that (other than on Senshuraku) but I was trying to think as deviously as I believed they were.
