Hello gamers,

the UDH entry form is ready now and waiting for your selections. Rules in a (very small) nutshell: Guess the thirteen makuuchi rikishi you expect to have the fewest wins this basho.

You may submit your entry at http://udh.seisa.de/udh_index.html.

Once you have selected your team, please root for them as much as you can. The game was not intended to honor any failure, but to stimulate interest in the less successful rikishi.

The deadline for your entries will be the first day of the basho (Sunday, May 9th) at 12pm Japanese Time.

Good luck!

Yusho and Yokozuna promotion axxeptance speech

It's done! I went into this Basho with two consecutive 13-2 results and I was aware that another 13-2 would be the minimum result needed for promotion. I felt extreme pressure on my shoulders for at least the first 12 days when it was not quite clear whether my performance would be good enough. And now I'm soooo happy that I have achieved this objective. Even better, grabbing the Yusho was the ice on this cake.

You know, UDH is a special game among the 19 SB games. It's not about winning, it's the only game where you have to anticipate the losers. Picking winners is easy as everyone always wants to be with winners. It makes you feel better when your team wins and it is easier to support winners. It is just better to be on the sunny side of life. But who cares about the losers? The Hokutorikis, Kyokushuzans and Tokis once they have/had reached the joijin-ranks? In so far all my respect is with Shiyonofuji/Kaiopectate who has created this inimitable game some twelve years ago.

There should be more empathy for the losers. There are no winners without those valiant guys who give their best only to end up second (or behind). I can tell you from my table tennis career when in league matches I started with an incredible 32 losses in a row before winning my first league match ever. I know exactly how a loser feels and perhaps this is why I'm more successful in UDH than in any other Sumo game.

I am humbled to accept this e promotion and I hope I can be a "good" Yokozuna. I will always try my best to meet the high expectations which are affiliated with this honorable rank.

Just needed the confirmation here... I need 11-4 again for the Ozeki promotion, right?

Yup.

Congrats to Ganzohnesushi! :-S (Sign of approval...) :-)

(My first-ever tsunatori in the Hoshitori [needing a 13-2] just ended in a 4-11...sigh.)
