Golynohana Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 According to www.sumoinfo.de Eurosport is going to show Kyushu Basho 03 between Wednesday (11th of February) and Friday, but I don't see it in Eurosport TV Schedule. :'-( Anybody knows when they are going to show it ?
Oikeassa Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 (edited) The Eurosport website at Eurosport Schedule shows the Sumo Basho broadcast is on 15/02 from 1900-2100 CET. (Let's hope!) Edited February 11, 2004 by Oikeassa
Koldonowaka Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 The Eurosport website at Eurosport Schedule shows the Sumo Basho broadcast is on 15/02 from 1900-2100 CET. (Let's hope!) Yes, you should be right. According to our weekly grill, on Sunday (02/15, 19:00-20:00 cet) there will a replay of the program from December 27th (that is, Kyushu Basho Days 10, 11 & 12). And then also on Sunday (20:00-21:00) a replay from December 28th (Days 13, 14 & 15). Besides, in case you are interested, these are the preliminary dates for the Hatsu Basho on Eurosport: Monday, February 23rd (20:00-21:00) - Days 1, 2, 3 Monday, February 23rd (21:00-22:00) - Days 4, 5, 6 Thursday, February 26th (21:00-22:00) - Days 7, 8, 9 Sunday, February 29th (19:45-20:45) - Days 10, 11, 12 Sunday, February 29th (20:45-21:45) - Days 13, 14, 15 I hope there will not be too many changes, but I'll try to let you know.
Yoavoshimaru Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 Is grill a slang term for schedule? Magazine maybe? Calendar perhaps?
Asashosakari Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 Is grill a slang term for schedule? Magazine maybe? Calendar perhaps? Perhaps just a typo of "grid"? :-)
Kintamayama Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I think he meant "weekly reporter meeting", as he is the Spanish language Sumo broadcaster on Eurosport, I think..
Koldonowaka Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Sorry, I meant 'grid'. Probably I was thinking about grilled meat when writing. We usually translate 'grid' as 'parrilla' in Spanish, but 'parrilla' is translated as 'grill' in English. :-) Er, never mind, forget it.
Naganoyama Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Whereas those of us in Britain will have to settle for mixed-grill (if we make it ourselves, that is (Applauding...)) because British Eurosport do not appear to have any Sumo on the schedule (to end 25 February when my programme runs out). :-)
Fujisan Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 I think our sumo watching is done and dusted now Naganoyama- I have resigned myself to the virtual dohyo now to avoid further disppointment.
Naganoyama Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 I think our sumo watching is done and dusted now Naganoyama-I have resigned myself to the virtual dohyo now to avoid further disppointment. What do you think of us starting a small pressure group to scrap British Eurosport and receive Eurosport in Britain instead? What would we lose? English commentary? (What language/languages are used on Eurosport?)
Manekineko Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 Well, I get English commentary on most events, and I receive "normal" Eurosport. German is the second (or first, judging by commercials) of Eurosport languages... I *think* you can choose what language you want to listen the Eurosport in if you have your own sat-dish (which I don't).
Xris Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 On Astra, you can receive European Eurosport (mostly English, some German) in analogical mode for free. In digital mode, German Eurosport is the only free version of Eurosport.

Er, never mind, forget it. Speaking of which, some anticuchos don't sound half bad right now.....nothing like some carne on the parilla (Applauding...)
