Zenjimoto Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Asashoryu -- Kakizoe Looks like we get to see what Kakizoe is really made of on day 11. Oooooh yes. I am loving this bout! Loving it! (Heart) If I am right, it will be the first of many in what is to be a rivalry of monumental proportions... (Applauding...) Cheers Zenjimoto
Naganoyama Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 A reasonably good chance of a kinboshi. After all Asashoryu doesn't really know what Kakizoe is made of. (And nothing to lose psychologically for Kakizoe either)
Kashunowaka Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 A reasonably good chance of a kinboshi. After all Asashoryu doesn't really know what Kakizoe is made of. (And nothing to lose psychologically for Kakizoe either) After seeing Asashoryu totally destroying Kotomitsuki with tsuriotoshi today, I'd say that Kakizoe has a snowball's chance of surviving in hell against Asashoryu.
Koriyama Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 You are absolutely right. Kakizoe has no chances at all against yokozuna. I thought Kotomitsuki will have some chances against Asashoryu, but o boy, Asa was tossing him around like a child. At list, Kotomitsuki was trying, he didn
Naganoyama Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 You are probably right. I like to play devil's advocate a bit. I suppose that so far in this basho Asashoryu has not been suffering from his old failing of underestimating certain opponents and then being surprised. (Applauding...)

(Applauding...)
Doitsuyama Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 The Jūryō bouts also are already available at banzuke.com. (Applauding...) I recommend watching Hakuhō after the bout. :-|
Kashunowaka Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 I recommend watching Hakuhō after the bout. (Applauding...) Ajajaj ... lucky he has already got 7 wins.
Kotoseiya Yuichi Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 Kakizoe has no chances at all against yokozuna. So, why arrange the bout at all?
QttP Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Kakizoe has no chances at all against yokozuna. So, why arrange the bout at all? To make Kakizoe lose and drop out of the yusho race. Mid-maegashira rikishi aren't supposed to yusho.
Kotoseiya Yuichi Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 I thought the very act of putting Zoe against the yokozuna was enough if he has no chance at all according to some. Even M17 can take the yusho no matter how he's supposed to act. Isn't that the "salt" in all this? The unpredictability.
