shimodahito Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 (edited) good day all, The Tokushinho/Juryo9East win over Shotenro/Juryo5East on Day 15 of Aki gave 3 points to 3 players. The current standings are: standings: 16 points - Gusoyama 14 points - Wildcard 13 points - Profomisakari 6 points - Ganzohnesushi 6 point - Pandaazuma 5 points - crall 5 points - Holleshoryu 4 points - Daughter of Sukubidubidu 4 point - Furanohana 4 points - nomadwolf 4 points - Oshirokita 4 point - Vikanohara 4 points - yorikiried by fate 1 point - Devlyn 1 point - Jason 1 point - Kameumi 1 point - shimodahito 1 point - Sukiaki However, Tokushinho's poor Aki record (4-11) also put the TORCH back down in Makushita territory for the final basho of the contest. With most contestants' rank picks in Juryo, rikishi picks and final bonus points will probably be a big factor in who wins this year. Good luck to all for this last basho.... The prize is ready to be mailed to the winner. KYUSHU TORCH POSITION: RIKISHI: TOKUSHINHO RANK: MAKUSHITA 3 WEST Edited November 10, 2010 by shimodahito
Ganzohnesushi Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 ...6 points - Gonzohnesushi ... It would be nice to see my Shikona corrected. Ganzohnesushi

shimodahito Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 good day all, first: The picks come to me by e-mail and on 3 different forums, but you can see them in the "torchbearer 2010 invitation" thread (i don't know how to paste the thread here but it might be: http://www.sumoforum.net/forums/index.php?...rchbearer+2010). But to Vikanohara: your picks were Juryo 9 East and Sakaguchi. Kyushu starts with a: TORCH MATCH ON KYUSHU DAY 1! RIKISHI TOKUSHINHO vs YOSHIAZUMA RANK MAKUSHITA 3 WEST vs MAKUSHITA 4 EAST Player(s) up for points: Ganzohnesushi's rikishi pick was TOKUSHINHO charliki's rank pick was MAKUSHITA 3 WEST a loss = 1 point, but a win = 3 points and an opportunity for more points in the next torch match (in Kyushu) standings: 16 points - Gusoyama 14 points - Wildcard 13 points - Profomisakari 6 points - Ganzohnesushi 6 point - Pandaazuma 5 points - crall 5 points - Holleshoryu 4 points - Daughter of Sukubidubidu 4 point - Furanohana 4 points - nomadwolf 4 points - Oshirokita 4 point - Vikanohara 4 points - yorikiried by fate 1 point - Devlyn 1 point - Jason 1 point - Kameumi 1 point - shimodahito 1 point - Sukiaki
Vikanohara Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 But to Vikanohara: your picks were Juryo 9 East and Sakaguchi. Oh, so not that good then. :o)
shimodahito Posted November 21, 2010 Author Posted November 21, 2010 good day all, The last Aki Day 15 TORCH MATCH, causing the torch to drop to Makushita ranks, has really put a damper on any participants' attempts to rack up some points in the final basho of the 2010 TORCHBEARER contest. This will likely keep the end-of-year bonus points low as well, and gives leader, Gusoyama, a clear advantage. Here is a nakabi update: KYUSHU BANZUKE TORCH POSITION: MAKUSHITA 3 WEST TOKUSHINHO KYUSHU DAY 1: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 4 EAST YOSHIAZUMA (charliki & Ganzohnesushi - 1 point each) KYUSHU DAY 3: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 2 WEST IKIOI KYUSHU DAY 6: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 4 WEST NIONOUMI KYUSHU DAY 8: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 9 EAST ARAWASHI standings: 16 points - Gusoyama 14 points - Wildcard 13 points - Profomisakari 7 points - Ganzohnesushi 6 point - Pandaazuma 5 points - crall 5 points - Holleshoryu 4 points - Daughter of Sukubidubidu 4 point - Furanohana 4 points - nomadwolf 4 points - Oshirokita 4 point - Vikanohara 4 points - yorikiried by fate 1 point - charliki 1 point - Devlyn 1 point - Jason 1 point - Kameumi 1 point - shimodahito 1 point - Sukiaki
shimodahito Posted November 27, 2010 Author Posted November 27, 2010 good day all, Hang on for a crazy finish. Here's the KYUSHU summary: KYUSHU BANZUKE TORCH POSITION: MAKUSHITA 3 WEST TOKUSHINHO KYUSHU DAY 1: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 4 EAST YOSHIAZUMA (charliki & Ganzohnesushi - 1 point each) KYUSHU DAY 3: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 2 WEST IKIOI KYUSHU DAY 6: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 4 WEST NIONOUMI KYUSHU DAY 8: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 9 EAST ARAWASHI KYUSHU DAY 9: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 11 EAST MINAMI KYUSHU DAY 11: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 32 WEST TOCHITSUBASA (Tochitsubasa was the last undefeated Makushita rikishi at 6-0 but instead of pairing his last match with a 6-0 Sandanme rikishi.....) KYUSHU DAY 13: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 11 EAST MINAMI (6-1) So Ms11E Minami will carry the torch into a multi-rikishi kittei-sen/tomoe-sen on senshuraku, leaving a wide range for torch position. no change in standings: 16 points - Gusoyama 14 points - Wildcard 13 points - Profomisakari 7 points - Ganzohnesushi 6 point - Pandaazuma 5 points - crall 5 points - Holleshoryu 4 points - Daughter of Sukubidubidu 4 point - Furanohana 4 points - nomadwolf 4 points - Oshirokita 4 point - Vikanohara 4 points - yorikiried by fate 1 point - charliki 1 point - Devlyn 1 point - Jason 1 point - Kameumi 1 point - shimodahito 1 point - Sukiaki
shimodahito Posted November 28, 2010 Author Posted November 28, 2010 good day all, Senshuraku kettei-sen, tomoe-sen, sixtei-sen...whatever you call it... Six ranks: MAKUSHITA 11 EAST (current TORCH position) MAKUSHITA 21 EAST MAKUSHITA 32 WEST MAKUSHITA 37 EAST MAKUSHITA 41 EAST MAKUSHITA 58 EAST Six rikishi CHIYONOKUNI KUMAGAI MINAMI (current TORCH POSITION) MYOGIRYU (Konrad's rikishi pick) NAOE TOCHITSUBASA We could have a: TORCH MATCH ON KYUSHU DAY 15! ....if Konrad's pick is involved in any of the playoff bouts. Good luck!!!!
shimodahito Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 good day all, What a crazy finish as the TORCH ended up in the playoff matches, and Konrad made the most of it as his rikishi pick won the yusho and holds the final TORCH position. 2008 co-champs Terarno and Jejima were pointless, but 2009 champ, Profomisakari, was in the running since the start of Aki basho. Here's the path of the TORCH during Kyushu. KYUSHU BANZUKE TORCH POSITION: MAKUSHITA 3 WEST TOKUSHINHO KYUSHU DAY 1: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 4 EAST YOSHIAZUMA (charliki & Ganzohnesushi - 1 point each) KYUSHU DAY 3: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 2 WEST IKIOI KYUSHU DAY 6: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 4 WEST NIONOUMI KYUSHU DAY 8: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 9 EAST ARAWASHI KYUSHU DAY 9: Ms4E YOSHIAZUMA defeats MAKUSHITA 11 EAST MINAMI KYUSHU DAY 11: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 32 WEST TOCHITSUBASA KYUSHU DAY 13: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 11 EAST MINAMI (6-1) KYUSHU KETTEI-SEN: The TORCH is passed to MAKUSHITA 58 EAST MYOGIRYU (Konrad
