[Doitsuyama]

I have added a few things to Sumo Reference to match the scgroup/sumo features:

- the banzuke page now has the additional option "Simple Style" which writes the banzuke in one table from makuuchi to jonokuchi, makes two columns for wins and losses, omits yusho or sansho references and writes the hoshitori (if selected) in pure text form, like here. This should make importing to Excel a lot easier.

- the banzuke page now has links to W/L matrix for makuuchi and juryo (or both in one). That's a new page which is totally in the "traditional"scgroup style. (I am not worthy...) With very slight modifications and a few add-ons.

- the ability to select results for a selected group of rikishi (typed in a text field) always has been there in Sumo Reference (and much more powerful I think) as that's a part of the banzuke or bout query. Just enter your favorite rikishi there and add more selections as you like, for example the newest six basho. Then bookmark the result page and come back whenever you like.

Bug reports are always welcome.

I've only explored the 'simple style' banzuke because that's the feature of scgroup.com/sumo that was most indispensable to me. It looks good! One single column for the whole banzuke and separate columns for wins and losses make the data grabbing a much easier process for the lowest division games.

Unless I am missing it, I can't see the *current* rank of the rikishi when doing the customised search - or will that appear once their first bout of the current basho has occurred?

Many thanks - I was doing the query wrongly (I was trying to view the current Makushita division with their results from the previous three bashos) - but have now worked out the correct query --> here if you interested.

Thanks for that (I am late, but better late than never...). Something that I would consider interesting inside the matrix would be a mark for next match ( a green point ? ). Would that be possible ? Thanks.

Very useful indeed, thank you ! Unfortunately on my screen red circles and black ones tend to look like each other, that's why I suggested green ones. And what about grey ones ? Anyway only if and when you have time ! Thank you again. paolo

I'm not affected, but red-green blindness is prevalent enough that that's probably not a good idea. In any case, would grey really make much of a difference on your screen? Red and black looking too similar tends to be caused by a faulty brightness setting (or an old and failing monitor that simply can't produce enough brightness, I suppose), and I'm not sure grey would do much either, unless it's a very light grey - in which case it'll probably fade into the white background for people with proper brightness settings.

But while we're at it...one thing that I always kinda missed in the scgroup implementation was a column with the current basho record. One could always switch to the regular banzuke view I guess (or count up all the circles...) but having it all in one view would be nice.

As it looks debatable, I do not insist. The way it is now it is a big improvement anyway !

Thanks. I think the Abe quality index is next to totally worthless to indicate quality in any meaningful manner, so it probably will never be on Sumo Reference.

I agree of course that the Abe-index is flawed, but it has been the only quality-related index been readily available online (and with some modifications one can extract more useful information from it, imo)
