Kintamayama Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Tochiazuma has decided not to go on New Year's holidays, and train for the tsuna. He has been doing all sorts of training these days (yesterday he did some neck strengthening exercises), and has refused all TV appearance requests, in order to concentrate on Sumo. "Rushing into things all at once may cause me to break something, so year in and year out, I have to 'be hard' on my body ", he said. Asashouryuu will be building a park in his name in Ulan Bator in Mongolia. "I'd like children and elderly people to have a place where they can relax", he said. It is slated to open on June the 1st, which is "Children's Day" In Mongolia. Building will commence in March. He will be sending 300 cherry trees to be planted there as well. He was also appointed special Mongolian Ambassador to UNICEF.
Yoavoshimaru Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 So Tochiazuma is focused solely on sumo while Asashoryu is refining his park design skills... Interesting. Nonetheless, I don't see Tochiazuma with a tsuna around his waist any time soon...
Naifuzan Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 So Tochiazuma is focused solely on sumo while Asashoryu is refining his park design skills Seems pretty logical since Asashoryu's biggest problem isnt his sumo but his public relations.
Yubiquitoyama Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 (edited) So Tochiazuma is focused solely on sumo while Asashoryu is refining his park design skills... Interesting. Nonetheless, I don't see Tochiazuma with a tsuna around his waist any time soon... Maybe not, but his chance is as good as anyones I'd say. Chiyotaikai and Kaio in their recent attempts have hardly had better odds (at least not significantly better). I would give Azuma a 20-30% chance in Hatsu. Edited December 4, 2003 by Yubiquitoyama
Yoavoshimaru Posted December 5, 2003 Posted December 5, 2003 You are more generous than I am, Yubi-zeki ;-) I'd give Asashoryu 4/10, Chiyotaikai 3/10, Kaio 2/10 and Tochiazuma 1/10 chances of winning the yusho in hatsu 2004 (Sigh...)

Well, I'd say Asashoryu probably has a somewhat better chance than Tochiazuma to win the yusho, but Taikai and Kaio, well, at most the same. Anyway, of course there are a lot of others that could win the yusho too, but the odds are rather long on most of them... Edited December 5, 2003 by Yubiquitoyama
