Sokkenaiyama Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Day 13 - Baruto. Kakuryu has a date with Chiyotaikai.
Harry Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Going with my first guess, Kakuryu even though the above guess has me a bit worried...
Profomisakari Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I believe they will give him for day 13 Aminishiki Profomisakari
Jejima Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) I think Kakuryu may well be Kotomitsuki's day 13 opponent, so I'll change my mind (from previous droning post) and go with.... Well, I wanted to pick one of the M2 guys (as they should really face all the sanyaku), but their records are so abysmal.... I was thinking Baruto would skip Kise this basho (being half-a-rank too low).... Ugh.... Baruto still needs to face Kotoshogiku, so I'll predict that one for day 13. Therefore Kise will get an M2 aite, but which one? Hmmmmmm...... I'll have winless Tochiozan for day 13 please, and a huge dollop of salt! (I am not worthy...) Edit: No I won't... (and I'll regret it later), if the torikumi makers have any sense, they'll follow the Prof's sensible suggestion. Therefore, I'll have Aminishiki too for day 13, which will mess with my bench Sumo for that day ;-) Edited July 22, 2009 by Jejima
Jejima Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 There is a very good chance that I'll be in transit / asleep jet-lagged for the next deadline, so for day 14 I'll have Baruto (unless he is the day 13 aite, in which case, I'll take Kakuryu.)
Asashosakari Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Kakuryu has a date with Chiyotaikai. For Day 13? That's...bold.
Kotoviki Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Hard! Half me wants to stick with Baruto & half with Kakuryu.... Hmmmm I'm going to go with Kakuryu as well!!!!
Jakusotsu Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Day 13 - Baruto. Kakuryu has a date with Chiyotaikai. Nah, Taikai will get Goeido. Day 13 - Kakuryu
Yaochoyama Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Day 13 - Baruto. Kakuryu has a date with Chiyotaikai. Nah, Taikai will get Goeido. Day 13 - Kakuryu It may just be a moment of madness, but I'll put my trust in Sokkenaiyama and the Taikai - Kakuryu matchup. Day 13 - Baruto
Kofuji Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 For all the good it will do me, I might as well not enter today ... but I'll go with Kakuryu and check in 10 minutes which opponent Kisenasato really got ...
Kofuji Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Day 13 will see the sekiwake matchup. Nine players anticipated this and will receive white stars including our leader Maguroyama. He has two days in which to pull off a genuine kachikoshi, but the picks are tricky as there a lot of potential aites out there. Please start the day 14 bandwagon. Tomorrow will be my last full day in Canada. I may be out getting a last game of Hearts in with the boys tomorrow night. The next night I will defintely not be able to do results as I will be enroute to Dubai. If anyone would like the spreadsheet that I've been using to do the results, I'd be happy to forward it to them. Yaochoyama (O1E 5-8) O Sokkenaiyama (S1E 2-11) S Profomisakari (S1W 5-8) Jakusotsu (K1E 5-8) K Maguroyama (K1W 7-5-1) Oshirokita (M1E 4-9) M1 Kofuji (M1W 5-8) Jejima (M2E 4-9) M2 Harry (M2W 6-7) XiaoTan (M3E 3-10) M3 ilovetochinoshin (M3W 5-8) Holleshoryu (M4E 3-10) M4 Chisaiyama (M4W 4-9) Hidariashiyama (M5E 2-8-3) M5 Gernobono (M5W 4-8-1) Mae-zumo Ganzohnesushi (mz 4-6-3) Kisenosato's aites: 1. O1E Harumafuji, 2. O3E Chiyotaikai, 3. M3E Iwakiyama, 4. M1W Goeido, 5. O2E Kaio, 6. O2W Kotomitsuki, 7. YE Hakuho, 8. YW Asashoryu, 9. M1E Aran, 10. O1W Kotooshu, 11. K1E Kotoshogiku, 12. K1W Kyokutenho, 13. S1E Kakuryu
Chisaiyama Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I'll start the ball rolling with: Day 14: Baruto
Maguroyama Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 No, will not jump the Baruto bandwagon...yet. I say day 14 - MIYABIYAMA
Jejima Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 Aminishiki for day 14 :) I'm now back in the UK (just arrived), and so should have regular Internet access once more, so I will be able to see out the end of the basho. Thank you Kofuji for your help over the past week. Please send me a copy of the spreadsheet - and instructions as to how to use it!
Jakusotsu Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I'm pretty sure he'll get Baruto and Aminishiki on the last two days, but in which order? :-( Day 14 - Aminishiki (Applauding...)
Kofuji Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I'm going with Baruto on Day 14 and probably Miyabiyama on day 15. I don't think they need to dig as deep as Aminishiki as an opponent.
