Kofuji Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I'm finally catching up with my spreadsheet to figure out the Special Prizes when the basho finishes. I have one discrepancy with the 'official' standings - I couldn't find the win for Kofuji with Asashoryu on Day 8. Kofuji (or anyone else for that matter), could you please refer me to the post where the pick was made. I'm not sure what happened there ... I could swear I posted it ... I do my picks in the morning here to ensure I don't miss, but there is a chance that after I stuck Asashoryu in the spreadsheet as I had him the day before, I forgot to post it again.
Kofuji Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) Three of us stuck with Day 11's aite, Kotoshogiku and so Maguroyama takes a two bout lead and is invited to make an early pick to start the day 12 bandwagon. Yaochoyama (O1E 4-7) O Sokkenaiyama (S1E 2-9) S Profomisakari (S1W 4-7) Jakusotsu (K1E 4-7) K Maguroyama (K1W 6-4-1) Oshirokita (M1E 3-8) M1 Kofuji (M1W 3-8) Jejima (M2E 3-8) M2 Harry (M2W 4-7) XiaoTan (M3E 3-8) M3 ilovetochinoshin (M3W 3-8) Holleshoryu (M4E 2-9) M4 Chisaiyama (M4W 2-9) Hidariashiyama (M5E 1-7-3) M5 Gernobono (M5W 3-8) Mae-zumo Ganzohnesushi (mz 2-6-3) Kisenosato's aites: 1. O1E Harumafuji, 2. O3E Chiyotaikai, 3. M3E Iwakiyama, 4. M1W Goeido, 5. O2E Kaio, 6. O2W Kotomitsuki, 7. YE Hakuho, 8. YW Asashoryu, 9. M1E Aran, 10. O1W Kotooshu, 11. Kofuji Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Day 12 - Kyokutenho Entering now since I have to leave early in the morning to take my mother to visit my aunt and am not sure we'll be back before the day 12 torikumi is released.
Chisaiyama Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) All my nice theorizing once again blown away by the torikumi makers! Fine then I'll go with Day 1112: Kyokutenho Edited July 21, 2009 by Chisaiyama
Profomisakari Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) But now they must give him for day 12 Kyokutenho! Profomisakari Edited July 21, 2009 by Profomisakari
Maguroyama Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Ok, I'll give everyone a chance to catch up: day 12 - KAKURYU
Sokkenaiyama Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Kotooshu's aite will be Aminishiki for day 12. Kisenosato will have to settle for Baruto.
Jakusotsu Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 If only my crystal ball revealed the correct komusubi for day 11... Day 12 - Baruto
Jejima Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Day 12 Kyokutenho, dammit (Blowing up furiously...)
Jejima Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 There is a very good chance I'll be stuck in my 30 hour trip to the UK, and won't be able to enter for tomorrow, in which case, I'd like Kyokutenho for day 13 again please (unless he is the aite on day 12, in which case I'll take Kakuryu).
Kotoviki Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I'm tempted to stick with Baruto again but anyone will do... Maybe Kise will face anyone he hasn't already.... this game is hard!!! I will just go with Kyokutenho which means it will probably be Baruto! duh!
Yaochoyama Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Wow Maguroyama - throwing down the gauntlet. Okay, I'll take the bait. Not that I have a lot of choice. If K'ryu is aite in a couple of hours, a well-deserved victory. Day 12 - Kyokutenho
Kofuji Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 The torikumi makers cooperate with many of us and give Kisenosato Kyokutenho for Day 12. Ten white stars are handed out today. Maguroyama still leads but we now have three contestants only a win behind. Maguroyama is invited to start the Kakuryu bandwagon for the remainder of the basho, or pick some other rikishi for us. Yaochoyama (O1E 5-7) O Sokkenaiyama (S1E 2-10) S Profomisakari (S1W 5-7) Jakusotsu (K1E 4-8) K Maguroyama (K1W 6-5-1) Oshirokita (M1E 3-9) M1 Kofuji (M1W 4-8) Jejima (M2E 4-8) M2 Harry (M2W 5-7) XiaoTan (M3E 3-9) M3 ilovetochinoshin (M3W 4-8) Holleshoryu (M4E 3-9) M4 Chisaiyama (M4W 3-9) Hidariashiyama (M5E 1-8-3) M5 Gernobono (M5W 4-8) Mae-zumo Ganzohnesushi (mz 3-6-3) Kisenosato's aites: 1. O1E Harumafuji, 2. O3E Chiyotaikai, 3. M3E Iwakiyama, 4. M1W Goeido, 5. O2E Kaio, 6. O2W Kotomitsuki, 7. YE Hakuho, 8. YW Asashoryu, 9. M1E Aran, 10. O1W Kotooshu, 11. K1E Kotoshogiku, 12. K1W Kyokutenho
Chisaiyama Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I'm willing to start the ball rolling. Since they seem determined to use up the Sanyaku before getting to the big Estonian, I say: Day 13: Kakuryu
Oshirokita Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 eesh, I like this game but it can be so frustrating Day 13 Kakuryu
Maguroyama Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I actually thought the all-sekiwake bout would be on day 14, but since I'm not sure who the remaining two opponents are,I'll repeat myself: Day 13 - KAKURYU
