I missed the deadline on this one.

Not really, you can still enter for the remainder of the basho - you would start only one win behind the early yusho leaders, so not much of a disadvantage :-)

Wow! Another curveball from the torikumi makers. Why-oh-why Iwakiyama for the day 3 aite? :-) - my only thought is that the torikumi makers wants to get Iwakiyama's bouts against the guys they like early, before his record is too embarrassing to be matched against sanyaku foes....

Or they want to give Golden Boy Kisenosato some cannon fodder early on to make his record decent and give him the necessary confidence boost to help him get numbers for an Ozeki-run.... (I mean, 'Taikai instead of 'Miki on day 2 would feed that silly conspiracy theory as well....)

Nothing much changes with the leaderboard. Kofuji is once again invited to make a late entry....

[Early warning, due to my trip to Japan leaving early Wednesday morning, I won't be able to do the updates here for several days. Would anyone else have the time to fill this small task? It does not take too long to do.)

He's Sekiwake West, surely he must get the lower ranked Ozekis early on?!? So, I will stick with Kaio for day 4.... :-)

Iwakiyama was no where on the Day 3 radar ... making an early pick as being in Canada, I still haven't figured out where deadlines fit in this time zone and getting together with old friends tonight, may not be able to make last minute picks.

I'll try to pick up the ball again on results if someone else doesn't do it earlier than I can ...

Day 4 - Kakuryu

Darn, how hard it is to learn when to make picks in the beginning of this game! First entry - THURSDAY! Second entry - SUNDAY! Maybe some day I'll learn. Not that i wouldve guessed Iwakiyama anyway...

DAY 4 - KAIO

Day 4 - and it is Goeido! (So much for giving the Sekiwake West a feast of Ozekis early on....)

Everybody picked today, including rookie Ganzohnesushi - and everybody was shut out.

So everybody except Kofuji, Hidariashiyama and Ganzohnesushi (who are just one win behind) remain co-leaders, and so are invited to make early picks.

This is the last day I'll be able to do the updates for a while (I'll be joining ilovetochinoshin and Harry in Japan as of tomorrow - although they are only making it to Nagoya late on Friday).

Thank you to Kofuji for volunteering to look after the game for a while. (Applauding...)

Day 5 - Kotomitsuki! (And hopefully I will be there in person to watch this great match-up!)
