Jesinofuji Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 And Asashoryu is going to turn his Mongolian Senior into swiss cheese.
Oikeassa Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 And Asashoryu is going to turn his Mongolian Senior into swiss cheese. I was kinda hoping this would be the ISP bout--I can use a gimme.
tominishiki Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 And Asashoryu is going to turn his Mongolian Senior into swiss cheese. I was kinda hoping this would be the ISP bout--I can use a gimme. Hope not Kyukoshuzan looks very good and Asashoryu also looks very good but shoes on is always a fight for shoryu
Tenkashoryu Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Here is my prediction for the match: Asa will beat him with strong morozashi grip. (Sad goodbyes...) And when match is over he would try to be nice to Shuzan in order to show that he doesn't have anymore problems with Shuzan. Probably, Asa would help Shuzan by lifting him up after the bout (even though he is burning inside). (Showing respect...)
Kaikitsune Makoto Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Asa will beat him with strong morozashi grip. And when match is over he would try to be nice to Shuzan in order to show that he doesn't have anymore problems with Shuzan. Probably, Asa would help Shuzan by lifting him up after the bout (even though he is burning inside). I think so too! I really hope Shuzan gets all his might into this bout and comes out of the crouch down like a mad Dejima! Then some nasty slaps and a kick-ass pulldown attempt! Oh it would be interesting to see Shuzan's yasso-tobi against Shoryu!! I bet Shoryu doesn't expect that.
Yoavoshimaru Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Well Asashoryu won. Slow tachi-ai from both, Asashoryu waited a few seconds for Kyokushuzan to tachi-ai at all. Tried a leg trip, almost worked. Interesting bout. Asashoryu was definitely not extra nice after the bout, unlike the rest of his bouts this basho.
Tenkashoryu Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Asa was very cautious in this bout, started slowly and patiently; not to get into problem or getting cheated by Shuzan tricks. I was expecting some of Asa's nice "extra treats" after the bout like being nice and lifting up. I am sure Asa had lot of pressures from people especially from his parents and compatriots to be nice to Shuzan or at least try to act like one. >:-( However, it didn't happen. Asa almost stepped out first, and probably that got into his nerves and "forgot to give his little smiles". :-(
Jesinofuji Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 They both went out together each with a leg tangled in the air with the other's. Shoes-on just came down a split second before Shoryu did (no quotes plz). A good match actually, and it won't generate any news either as nothing extracarricular happened.
Yoavoshimaru Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 An Asashoryu - Kyokushuzan match without anything extracurricular is exactly what we all want, so that's good...
Naifuzan Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 No scandals at all this basho. Biggest thing happening seems to be Musashimaru's retirement, wich wasnt very unexpected, although sad. Genki Tochiazuma, Asashoryu seems fine as well. Imagine what a great basho this would be if Chiyotaikai and Kaio had been in good form as well, and if wakanosato hadn't gotten a lot of losses early on. >:-( Oh well... It's still not that bad, and it's gonna be very exiting to see how it ends!
