Sumo Documentary on BBC Four 2 Apr 2009

As part of the channel's Japan season:

"Documentary about the prestigious world of sumo wrestling, in which aesthetics are considered as important as sheer strength. And the wrestler's hair is no exception to the rule, with traditional top knots being crafted daily by the tokoyama, or sumo hairdresser."

Now that it's aired, the doc is from 1994 narrated by a younger-sounding Stuart Atkin, and mostly features Mianoumi & Tokomitsu tokoyama. Good to see more sumo footage from the 90's.

Yes.BBC 4 seem to be doing a japan season.There have been a couple of doumentaries concerning sumo wrestling.One involving the BRitish amateuir sumo contingent from 1992 and one concerning the hairdressers in sumo.Both are on iplayer.(only for UK viewers)

Is there any way that someone outside of the UK could watch these? I have tried looking up proxy servers but they all seem like BS sites that take you nowhere.

BBC iPlayer is tricky w/proxies & IP masks because they use Geo-IP and only works with registered UK IPs. More here.

The problem they're describing is with users inside the UK who are using proxy servers outside the UK. They'll appear to be outside the UK as far as iPlayer is concerned.

By the same token, a user from outside the UK can look as if he's inside the UK by using a UK-based proxy server. The service only sees the proxy, not the end user, and this is a common technique for getting around regional filters. The hard part is usually finding an open server, which is Kimyouzan's problem. I can't really help there, unfortunately.
